Ham Radio in Qatar

Are there in Qatar any US ham radio operators?
I am a little lost in the procedure of the reciprocal agreement between the US ARRL and Qatari Amateur Radio Society.
I know that there is an agreement between UK and QR, but not sure about the US.
Any info from US hams operating in Qatar will be greatly appreciated.

Last time I checked the only way was to get a UK license and then apply for the Qatari one.

Are you joining QR?
