Annual vacations : 46 days (2x23 days) School fees reimbursed up to 75% by the company Medical for you and your family. End of service benefit (1 month salary per year you've spent) Unlimited ID travel Minimum 8 days OFF per month.
Now in real life, very difficult in our days to get the vacations as all fleets are short of pilots.
Yes, they pay education fees regardless of where your children are.
RO700 will get you a four-bedroom villa on the Mawaleh or Al Hail side of the airport. If you want to live in The Wave, which seems to be popular now, you will have to fork out about another 300 rats on top of your allowance. Personally, I hate the Wave and prefer the privacy of a villa with high walls and a gate.
My advice is to leave the kids and the missus at home for at least the first six months, and move into a one-bedroom apartment in the short-term.
Oman Air, and indeed Oman, is not for everyone. And moving all the ducklings over on a whim has already burnt a few pilots in the past.
Car loans, advance rent cheques of up to a year (jail-term for bouncing a cheque here!), furniture all bought and then deciding the place is not for you.....or your superiors deciding that you are not for the place, is a large mouthful of stress to swallow.
Good advice from the previous poster. It depends if you're capt. or f/o. But I think it doesn't really matters, because the omanization is a fact. it will take some time, but it will come. As capt, prepare to find out something else in the short/medium term. As f/o, do the same, but hurry up mate!!! you are loosing your time, they will never upgrade you, and sorry, that's word of street and a real fact. Use this as a bridge to better places, nothing more, nothing less.
Do anybody know sth about a medical check for oman air? Do the accept e.g. the german medical or have the candidates go through a special check in oman?
