Headsets

Hello,
Does anybody know if I can fly with my own headsets (bose, sennheiser) or is it only allowed the one provided from EK?
Regards

Yes Sir, you can use your own headset, and it’s advisable since the Telex ones on the T7 are absolutely crap.

Why would anyone in their right mind join EK ? Give them 5 , 10 , heck 20 years of your life. You will regret it , guaranteed. It is not worth what you get in return.

You may need to fact check the GRU one old boy. If you feel the need to sledge your colleagues at least do so correctly.

You may joke about headsets but I have been using my own noise cancelling headset for years and wear it for nearly all the time I am in the seat. It allows me to turn the volume significantly lower, than if I was using those terrible Telex headsets on the 777. The lower noise levels also help me feel less tired too, so I can appreciate why some may ask about this.

I have also lost count of the number of times I have had to prompt my monitoring colleague about missed calls, when they were using the speaker instead of the headset.

Not necessarily true. It is definitely worth it for me because the money bucket is filling up very quickly 😉

Not trying to start a firestorm of negative posts but even after reading all the negativity I'm still interested in EK. Currently at a regional in the US working 90-100 hrs a month with minimal days off so all the talk of hours at EK sound similar. Not married and not bringing kids along (they are grown and in college) so most of the negative talk about bringing a family along shouldn't be a factor. For those of you that actually enjoy EK (if there are any on these forums) is it really this negative on line? I've read the forums about my current Airline and they have the same negative vibe but in reality most of the people enjoy working here. The forums seem to be where the negative minority hang out to bash the company- speaking of my own company, not EK.

Does EK pay for moving to Dubai?
Is the townhouse they provide furnished or non furnished?
I understand they provide transportation to/from HQ, is this true?
Has a tax been implemented in Dubai? Heard they were starting that soon.
I'm sure I have many more questions to come later.

Same txpilot0320 - happy to help with some actual constructive answers, minus the sarcasm.

-You can send cargo when you join. I think you only have to pay the tax and custom fees. Details are given prior joining.
Cargo entitlement when resigning is 900kg, so I guess it's the same amount when you join.

-You can choose. Furnished (very basic and doen't look that nice) or non furnished with a 45,000 AED furnishing allowance (pro rata repayable if you leave within 5 years).
You can use your furnishing allowance to ship your furniture from home via a cargo container if you want.

-Yes

-5% VAT from January 2018. No income tax (yet), but if you are from the USA, I think that you will still be taxed in the US.
