Qatar Airways rostering department N1 reason for resignations

Why all A320 guyz leaving QA and as main reason thay put A320 roster +salary ?
Plz explain am on A330 and we have no problems 4 days off or to get requested flight is not a big deal on A330 .

A320

Lulu dont forget you are on A330 means roster is out on time and you are alowed to request off days or flight while A320 guyz get roster with salary and not alowed to request anything except WOFF.
And A330 fly nice destionations with ILS and radar vectors in 90% while A320 fly to Sanna,Kathmandu,Alexandria,Mashad,Seychelles,Damas cus, south India...all intresting destinations for training but i prefere doing FRA,LHR,KIX,IAD,CDG flat terrain and radar vectors .
A320 roster has been ok before long time back but last 3 y its just a joke and make airline lost over 30% of fleet captians becouse of it .
Lets see a new system !

and it is not getting better.

CS told us today that they had a meeting with the new cabin svcs manager and the new rostering system was explained to them.

They want to go to the old GF system whereby you will be gone for 5 days flying around the area, only using DOH as a transit port.

So DOH-KWI-DOH-AMM (layover)-DOH-DXB-DOH-BAH(layover)DOH-BEY-DOH-DXB (layover)-DOH-MCT-DOH-AUH(layover)-DOH.... could soon be reality for the 320 guys.

Widebody fleets can expect more short flights after a long sector etc...

CS where briefed and asked about their opinion...So far we havent heard a thing but this system is supposed to be implimented in september..

In my opinion a bomb will explode if they do that!

Another ill-thought over decision by managment! Add it to our still-not-confirmed annual leave tickets !

Completely ignorant how yr allowance / hotel system works in QR , but we used to do this sort of pattern in BA shorthaul out of Gatwick ( and LHR to a certain extent ). Looks like very short sectors to me , so either you will use shite hotels , or yr allowances will not make it worthwhile ?
We used to love this sort of work , but then again we were staying in great hotels in great cities around Europe. It actually gives you more time at home sometimes but can be bad for family life if you are at least home most nights even if it is 2 in the morning ? Is this the case with you guys ?

Hey Pierre, multi-day trips may actually improve quality of life for A320 crew if they get rid of all the pointless night duties around the Gulf. AUH, BAH, DXB and KWI all through the night duty for less than two hours pay? It's bullsh1t exploitation, no good reason for it and all crew hate it. Management know this too, they have been presented with alternative patterns more than once. Management dont have the will to change anything because they dont do any of the crap duties themselves. I guess you have to expect a crap airline to have worthless management.

This could improve lifestyle on the A320 if these patterns would be guaranteed followed by days off.

This is apparently not the case. STD 7 days off /month will be the rule

QR hotels usually have been of good standards so that should not be a worry.

Thing is that most pilots come to the Gulf bringing their families, looking for some sort of a lifestyle. A lifestyle at home.

If now 5 days away becomes the standard, there goes the lifestyle and most probably there goes the wife and kids as well! Not worth it!

On long haul it will not affect us that much however, so once more, the babybus drivers are screwed! It is time our beloved leaders start seeing this!

Unfortunately A320 CPs have not got the balls to change anything! The poor guys can not even request a flight on A320.

Don't be so sure that long haul won't be affected.....you may find some interesting pairings there too. Europe - Doha, Doha - Muscat for example. Layover muscat.

Anyway, the new multi day trips are not set in concrete yet as there are still many issues to work through. Hotel costs vs productivity etc. Higher authority still required.

My understanding is that the pairings will work over a 6 or 9 day schedule. Agree that lifestyle issues will become a factor if layovers become too frequent intra gulf.

Lets wait and see if next months roster comes out under the new format. Rumour is it may be delayed further....

Regarding CP's fleet influences...... slowly being eroded. Flight requests and swaps will eventually be done via the online system.

Good luck

Max

Let's just hope in the interest of the company that they will think twice before releasing any new roster system....
Maybe CEO PITA did the right move at the right time...

CMB

Yea but some crew i know stay in Tamarin or Taj which is BAD !

I guess hotels will become 3 star or so due to cost cut program .

Roster system is new and we will see how bad or good it is but till now a new CRM (crew rostering manager) did do anything to improve it he is just there instead of C.C who was more busy searching boys then doing roster lets see what Australian guy up to .

Sometime I just wish that we have a union here. (I know that it's impossible...but it would be nice if we have one to deal with this kind of management, roster and many more)

Union would have save a lot of money to the company; by taking into consideration the problem of the crew....this would have prevent a huge number of resignation since the creation of the company.!
But as we all known here the politic is :take it or leave it!
