GF’s ‘Bee-on-snuff’ and Cabin Crew

Seems that Bee-on-snuff, the CEO of GFA, has been smoking something that does him and the airline no good.
A few weeks ago, a cabin crew with close to 30 years of service, was sacked because she asked a passenger holding a Business Class ticket to shift to the Business Class from the First Class. That lady was the Personal Assistant of a Shaikha, also travelling on that flight, and this was considered an 'insult’ strong enough for Her Excellency to order action against the Cabin Services Manager. Bee-on-snuff supported the Shaikha, and this girl was sacked.
Do Bees have a spine? Not this one!
Or take the case of Bee-on-snuff reacting to a protest from a Chef who was being pulled up by the Grooming Officer. Result: the Grooming Officer to be sacked (later watered down to a transfer).
So very efficient! So very ‘just’ and what have you in terms of borrowed English!
Anyway, besides the wonderful financial projections, the crew of the airline know all about these, and now, not one GFA cabin crew will
• check any other crew for grooming standards, and
• stop a SLF from upgrading himself/herself
Bravo!
Why sell First and Business Classes anymore? Buy cheap and upgrade yourself! If the crew protests, then they will be sacked!

Moral of the story: If the boss is so incompetent, then why should one bother about putting in one's best effort?

we all now if the csm can't talk the pax to do what she want on ground she can let the ground staff handel it but i guess the csm thought that she is the vip and forgot that the shik is her real boss

It is a COMMERCIAL Airline not a family business. Is the CSM expected to check the personal history and working relationship of a passenger. CSM is given the responsibility of matching pax on the manifest. If the seated pax had happened to be a Tom, Dick or Harry, the Shaikha could have been offended and the CSM would have lost the job. no-win situation if the management is swaying on personal fancies. Another reason to have a mature person at the helm not a spineless puppet.

The question is did h.r.h insisted the flight is flown by expats and not by pilots named sultan's or ali's as some of them used to do in the old days ..

Propellor, I believe there is more to the story than what you have posted. So why don't you post the rest of the facts....
....maybe the VVIP overheard her insulting her???
....maybe the assistant was asked very rudely inflight to go back to J class???
Don't get me wrong, I don't care who the passenger is related to but to swear under your breathe at a first class pax & be heard is grounds for sacking in my opinion.

If This CSM is been working in middle east for 30 years then she should have known better that you can not deal with the VVIPs by showing them whats in the book.common sense should have prevailed. Dont mess with the Royalties or you will be in mess.

While there may be a different side to the story of the CSM, I certainly find it odd that a crew with close to 30 years in GF would not know how to deal with the royalties. Since the witnesses to her swearing were all members of the same entourage, I would take it with a pinch of salt.

Incidentally, the Grooming Officer who told a chef to reduce his girth to the company standards was finally sacked!

Bravo Propeller

WELL SAID PROPELLER,THE CSM WAS NOT BRIEFED BY THE GRD.STAFF ON DUTY ABOUT VVIPs,THE PIL GIVEN WHEN THE DOORS WERE ABOUT TO BE CLOSED AND ONLY THE CAPT TOLD OF THEIR TRIP.THE GRD STAFF SPOKE TO CAPT IN ARABIC AND AFTER THAT JUST LEFT WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING TO TELL CSM.SHE WAS PUT IN A TIGHT SPOT BY A CAPT.WHO DID NOT CARE TO INFORM HER OF THE ROYALTY TO BOARD.IF THIS WAS AN EXPAT CAPT HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE RESPONSIBILITY AND STOOD BY HIS CSM WHO TOLD THE OFFICE SHE WAS NOT AWARE THAT ROYALTY WAS TO BOARD.THE VVIP WAS NOT EVEN INTRODUCED AT THE A/C DOOR.SURELY SOP NOT FOLLOWED.SHE WAS A SCAPEGOAT IN A LOOSE-LOOSE SITUATION.

Get your facts right before posting!

Deepa123..., the captain was an expat in this incident so there was no one speaking arabic as you say. Also what was the station manager doing on the aircrart if the CSM wasn't told a VVIP was on board. As a CSM, a quick glance at the PIL would tell you that you have VIP's on board and who specifically they are. No one will know the full story as to whether the CSM used foul language or not, however after a career of 30 years with Gulf air, common sense should have prevailed here. Finally, why would the VVIP's entourage go out of their way to wait for an apology at the end of the flight? There is definetely more to this than what we already know.

Samjetblaster
It is you who should get the facts right.
The skipper was a Bahraini, and one fluent in Arabic!

The VVIP was driven up to the aircraft in a black Mercedes. That should have been a clue on the importance of the passenger.

Crew boarding inside

Crew busy boarding inside not looking outside for black cars.Spoke to Csm and other crew, no one told of VVIPs to board.Grd staff walked off and four letter word used by the chef in galley when she informed Csm that a pax from J/c was sitting there.

GF ground staff should be held partially responsible for this debacle. Ill communication to the CSM is a big factor. The CSM and Chef didn't help their case either by use of foul language and lack of diplomacy. There is the RIGHT way to do things and there is the CORRECT way to do things.

Two man hole covers welded to your bum is the only way to go...always watch your six ....the one you do not see is the one that gets you...min money in Bahrain and a willingnes to walk away from min assets in Bahrain and a ticket out in your back pocket is the way you have to live to not get too bably hurt.
