Gulf Air A319

Doesn't the title look too small on this aircraft, in relative/ratio comparison to other fleet members?

We're getting 2 frames (I was told ex-Skybus but it looks like this one is ex-Skyservice) and they are indeed at YYZ at the moment. The first one should arrive in BAH this month followed by the 2nd in September...

Thumbs up

Add to this fact that Airbus will make early deliveries to GF of 3 A330's as well. Predicted to start in January 2009.

Sounds good!

Sorry Albergineman, but my info says that the A330s are not new. In fact, they are ex-ME Airlines and are about 5 years old. Still, that is still practically new compared to the other GF planes.

Yes, they are ex MEA frames but should be in a great state (no RJ maintenance there!). Deliveries a month apart to start in March 09.

Expect Calicut and Amristar to be the last regional destinations to be opened (Calicut before the end of the year) before the focus switches to long-haul.

So MEA's 330s are heading going to GF!! This is what i call news

In fact MEA just received the first of four new 330s from Airbus, these are purchases instead of the 3 on lease from ILFC.

I can tell you those planes are Nice and in a good technical shape

the fact of the matter is:

no one cares about the technical health of the aircraft. (as long as it doesn't break down and delay their flight). ignorance is bliss.

the only things passengers care about are:

a) on time departure,
b) good in-flight entertainment, (like ey, ek, qr ie: the COMPETITORS!!!!)
c) value for money of their ticket.

that is all!!!!

gf maybe scores 1 out of 4 in this regard.
a long way to go. if anyone thinks this can be accomplished by making sure the office staff goes to work on time better think again.

Last I heard, 737's leave in October, but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath about the A340's.

I'll bet BD 1 that the aircraft will be registered as "A9C-EV"
