Flying schools in the UAE

Hi all

could anyone please assist me with some flying schools in the UAE. Im bussy saving up to start my PPL and Com. Is there any cheap flying schools out here at all. I have about 20hours already but could not complete my PPL as I hat to move out here to accept a job with a Leading airline as a Flight Dispatcher. Any help would be apreciated.
I now its cheaper to fly back home but due to the introduction of Part 61 back home Ill have to fly home everytime to write my PPL exams. If I can
complete atleast my PPL here with a GCAA lisence and just convert it back home and build the hours everytime I go back, That would help allot.

I'm also looking to do my ppl in the U.A.E
I have found the following schools

Horizon flight acadamy, based in al ain offer a JAR compliant ticket http://www.horizonuae.ae
PPL AED 62K(fixed) 99K(Rotary) min. 3 months
ATPL AED 435K(fixed)

Emirates Flying School/Emirates aviation services, based at DXB(GCCA)
http://www.emiratesaviationservices.com/

Fujairaha Aviation Acadamy
http://www.fujairahaviationacademy.com/

Umm Al Quwain Aero Club, GCCA ticket
http://www.uaqaeroclub.com/

They are by no means cheap, if comparing to schools in South Africa or at some schools in the U.S.

If you have any other info please let me know.

Edit: Picked up the prices at the Al Ain Aerobatic show this weekend, will be speaking the the chaps at emirates flying school this weekend, hopefully.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone provide some updates on the existing schools in UAE?
Which are the ones you'd recommend most?
I am interested on modular ATPL course and check whether is possible or not to continue my course in UAE.

Regards,
Daniel

Actually I am refering to EASA modules/certifications such as Night flying, IR, ME-IR, CPL, MCC, etc.

Instead of having the integrated course, EASA gives the possibility of doing the course on modular bases. I have already started the ATPL theory and expect to finish the theory part in September, so then I can start the flying modules I refer above.

Is there any possibility to do it in UAE?

Recommend you contact Fujairah Aviation Academy.

They can do a modular course for you.

I came into commercial aviation from the military route so can't offer much advice on this other than I would have thought it surely must be cheaper to do it in Florida or Oz? My nephew is self-funding himself from scratch and has costed it out (PPL/CPL/IR and frozen ATPL) to be way cheaper in the US than anywhere else.

Personally with the self-funding costs involved I cant see how the end justifies the means these days (easy for me to say probably having had little outlay) but that's just my experience mate..
