90-100

New destinations benefit from 48, sometimes 72 hours. This does not lasts long as normally those places get daily service then you are back to 24hrs.

Good luck,

DEC or FO?

How common is it for a Boeing guy to be put on the bus? The only thing i would not be stoked about is being put on the A320.

I got my success email 3 weeks after interview a I’m waiting for contract and DOJ now.

Help needed

Hello,
I am trying to apply for the post of First Officer at qatar airways. I have completed my application and it show 100% complete and when i submit my application,I get an email that thanks for applying and after few days i got another email that your application is incomplete please do the following steps to update and it says kindly update valid type rating. I have already attached my license in which type rating is endorsed but i get a same reply again and again. I even tried to apply again from a different email address but again the same reply. My question is what documents they require for type rating and how can i contact somebody there to ask what is missing so i can provide them the missing documents.
I will be really grateful if you guys can help

Nomi84, if your type rating is current and your IR is also current, i.e LPC on type valid it should be enough.

Valid ICAO ATPL or Frozen ATPL (ATPL Theory passes/credits)
Valid Instrument Rating (IR)
Valid Class One Medical
English language proficiency level 4 or above
Not older than 55 at the time of joining Qatar Airways
Minimum of 1,000 hours Multi Crew,Multi-Engine Jet commercial airline experience.
Type-rated and currently flying on the A380/A350/A340/A330/A320 with 500 hours minimum on type.
Holds a current LPC and has flown the A/C in the past 18 months prior to joining Qatar Airways.

Hello All, is there any requirement of having any number of hours on a jet aircraft in preceding 6/12 months ? Or is it just that you must have flown in the last 12 months on any jet aircraft mentioned in the particular ad ? Thanks for the info.

You must have flown the type endorsed on your licence within the past 18 months and have a current LPC for that type plus 500 hrs on the type. In other words a type rating and a few base circuits for licence issue is not applicable. But there is no " minimum " hours to have flown in the past 12 months. No use applying with a new 320 rating and hours on EMB195 for instance.

Maybe you should withdraw your application and just apply to companies that only operate the aircraft type you're prepared to fly

You either want to work for Qatar or you want to fly a particular aircraft

Thanks Avenger. I have a few thousand hours on the aircraft but only about 50 in last 6 months and about 120 in the last 12 months .A friend told me that QR needs some 100 in last 6 but I have not seen such a requirement. Thanks a ton for the clarification. Good day!

If you have applied for 320 for example, you need type rating with minimum 500 hours on type, current lpc/IR but am not aware of minimum time flown in last 6 months
Normally must have last flight within proceeding 12 months which is extendable to 18 under certain circumstances I believe

Thank you Casablanca, my last flight was in October and PPC/IR in JAn 2017...to be renewed in JAn 18.Was just worried as Emirates needs 150 hrs in preceding 12 months and a friend mentioned a similar requirement for Qatar. I guess it should be fine. Waiting for interview dates now.Good day!

Just one small thing to watch, they would probably expect the IR/LPC to be valid at the time of joining, worth mentioning this if you get an interview as the hold pool time is around 9 months currently. "Type-rated and currently flying on the A380/A350/A340/A330/A320 with 500 hours minimum on type." If you are not "currently flying" it is an issue

I have a friend flying for Qatar, he was a FO on the A380 since the past 2 years, around 2 weeks ago they "promoted" him to a captain on the A320 and not the A380

Why is it a "promotion"?
