A mate of mine at Qatar has mentioned that the PAT the company is putting guys through has lead to several terminations. So if you are already in the company and you don't achieve the desired level you can lose your job!!!!
Would you like to back the above statement with some proof. It's the first I've heard of any terminations as a result of PAT, indeed, the company have stated that they will offer support to anyone who conducts the test and is deemed unsuitable for upgrade/transfer etc.
All pilots have also been invited to volunteer for the test, if they so wish, but I doubt there will be many of those
"No matter what the results of the PAT the Company can be expected to provide the level of support for personal development that is required to ensure that all pilots currently employed with the Company would expect from a world class organization."
A company that needs pilots is not going to fire ones with a proven track record with the company because of a fuzzy psyc test.
Now if you are a still in the recruitment phase, then this is another hill to get over, and if it says you are not really that suited to the job..........
Actually, psych testing is prob what he may be referring too, and this applies to cpt upgrades, instructors, new hires, fleet transfers and anyone else who is selected to do it. Selected to do it is based on anyone seen under stress.
javadreaming....Your friend in Qatar Airways is lying. I work for the airline and so far no one is being fired because of PAT.
I dont know why people are trying to spread weird rumours, its just like someone spread a rumour about some FO killed himself and his family and claim to dump the family in the desert. Its all BS. There is no truth to that.
Plz tell your friend name the pilot who got fired because of PAT and from which fleet.
Beyblade, clearly your not in the know then. (Re: fo murders). either way, if you don't know then don't try to say things to trump what is true. You do no justice to any victims by playing dumb or denying reality.

disagreeable Did you knew the FO, do you know his name and on which fleet he was? What was the reason he killed himself? Have you seen any proof etc. You are among those who just believed in stupid rumours and then enjoy spreading it. There is a rumour is that FBI is involved in the investigation so how come they are quite about it. Do you think money can make them stop the investigation or stay quite, if it was Doha Police i might have believed you that there could be a possibility but FBI i dont think so. Bring one proof and i will believe you otherwise If you dont then i think its not wise to spread such rumours.
I'm sorry but on this issue you are wrong! (Re: F/O)
Unfortunately it is very much true, and I know someone who was interviewed by the FBI as part of their investigations. So it is not bullsh@t...
I'm not gonna write the guys name on a public forum so don't ask me to, but you can rest assured this isn't one of the bullsh@t rumours you hear... As to why you haven't heard about it in the news, come on this is Qatar hardly the Mecca of media freedom.
Rumour has it this is why the PAT tests were introduced, wether that's true or not I don't know
Just a quick question that I would appreciate help with. Is Qatar no longer accepting applications for First Officers due to the size of the holding pool? My account seems to have been deleted (wanted to update) , and I can't find any FO openings on the career site.
