That's good news. Now we have a chance of leaving this rat infested sinking ship since nothing will ever change, the board will always be a collection of the most dim witted people on the island, the management will always be mercenaries from somewhere or other out to make a quick buck & finally the old mafias will see be lurking around.

Why would bahraini pilots leave GF c##p to join S####y EY ....??
Same management guys, all ex GF............
Same attitude towards the flight crews and interestless cabin crews.....
Take your chance and fly somewhere else !! somewhere decent

u kno running off to the newest flashiest airline doesn't make you smarter or richer.
Dumber......maybe coz ur command period would be longer and it won't be that rosy when u knock up a stewardess with crabs
poorer.......probably coz you'd be spending whatever u get on a nice villa in a posh suburban in Abu Dhabi while living off discount items

Mr. R
1) Will join as direct entry captain
2) Happily married so no expected crab problems
3) Something called lease to own in Abu Dhabi
So in summary I think you should stay here a thank God that YOUR time to command will now lessen since plenty of us will be leaving.
Regards from just another dumb plane driver

As a single AUH is in many ways more convenient than BAH especially if you live downtown, I sure enjoyed it..but a family and villa and school and on and on might be a very different story...work out ALL the details in advance, as small as they might seem, as to avoid disappointing suprises!! Good luck

Mr R.
If I am hoping for a direct entry into Ek in the left seat then I guess that I must already be a Cpt!!!!
Also I never said that AUH was cheaper so I suggest you go to Yateem Opticians in Seef & get your eyes checked.(Feel sorry for the poor guy flying with you since you imagine reading things that are not there!!!)

In light of the criminal investigation facing GF. Plus the fact the Sultinate of Oman have served GF notice of intent to withdraw from their partnership. I'd say the end is near.
...sad if it happened.

The government will never let GF go under. One of my sources from the Ministry of Finance told me it will cost them far more to let it go the way of Alitalia than to continue letting it run at a loss, and this came from the highest authoriy.
With that in mind, they will continue with looking at avenues in reviving and making the airline competitive.
I guess Dosé only did what any CEO of company would without taking into account the way things are done in the Middle East.
Nevertheless, he has taken the first steps in the right direction. If any good came out of his tenure, it will be that he potentially uncovered a whole heap of corruption that has been rampant, which possibly caused his early departure.
Whoever is at the helm next will continue along that path with hopefully a more sensitive approach to the intricate needs of Bahrain.
