Sickle Cell Disease

Would a diagnosis of Sickle Cell Disease automatically mean that a Class One Medical would never be granted for a professional pilot's licence (ATPL) ?

I am afraid the current CAA rules state it is a no. However just worth checking the individual is homozygous sickle cell disease and not heterozygous sickle cell trait. It requires a straight forward blood test, but it has been known for people to be told they have disease when they have trait...
