JAA Class 2 expired, renewal or initial

My Class 1 medical lapsed to a class 2 and finally lapsed altogether in 2014 but as I wasn't flying at the time I didn't want to pay the expense to renew then. Do I now need a renewal or an initial class 2 examination to get this back?

Thanks for the help!!

Jamie

Renew your class one within five years of its expiry.

Discuss the class two option with the AME.

Another option to consider is to not renew if there is no reasonable expectation flying in the foreseeable future

You can get a Class 1 renewal with an AME up to 5 years after the expiry of the Class 1 medical.

Let it expire by anymore and you will need to go to an AMC for an extended renewal.

Getting yourself may well prove to be false economy.
