Class 1 Medical

Hey everybody,

Does anybody know how long the renewal takes for the Class 1 medical at Gatwick?

Also the cost of the renewal? I have been trying to get through to them all week, but no joy.

Cheers guys.

Go to the CAA website and search for CAA Scheme of Charges (Personnel Licences) and you'll find a few figures in Table 54.

I'm afraid I can't help you with the booking procedure! Drew a blank on that one.

Good luck

Why go to Gatwick? Any AME who is CAA certified can surey do a Class 1 renewal. Nowadays the CAA just usually redirect you back to the AME anyway if theres an issue. Each AME can charge a different amount. I know some of my Class 1's have cost £120 and others over £200.

Thanks helimutt,

I done my initial at Gatwick, so could I change the location for my renewal?

I did look at one not too far from me that's quite cheap. I live right beside Gatwick though.

Cheers.

One of the fundamental issues is that you have the absolute right to choose who you go to for your renewals. Nobody can tell you, not even employers, which AME to use.

You can't go to the CAA at Gatwick anymore anyway...

Important Notice https://www.caa.co.uk/Commercial-ind...edical-Centre/

if the link doesn't work it says..The UK CAA Aeromedical Centre will be closing on the 29th February 2016. All initial EU Class 1, 2 and Euro Class 3 medicals are fully booked. For initial Class 1 and Class 3 medicals please contact one of the other AeMCs. For initial Class 2 medicals and any classes of revalidation or renewal medicals please make contact with another AeMC or use our database to find an Aeromedical Examiner (AME) near you.
