HCV antibodies and Residence Permit?!
Hello all!
I have a question... If I have an HCV Antibodies in blood test, but PCR HCV medical test is negative (no HCV infection in blood analysis, just antibodies), so can I get a Residence Permit for job as couch in Sport Federation in Qatar, Kuwait etc.,? Already I got invitation from few GCC...
Who know please reply...
Thanks a lot!

Pretty certain no.
Hep C they will presume you got it from drug use

This is a highly treatable disease, I'm guessing that the authorities will take things on a "case by case" basis.

I just did a residence permit in uae, the medical is done at a government hospital and a certificate is issued with your reference number that states that you are "free from infectious diseases". Rumour has it that if you arent, there is a significant chance of deportation. Issue of a residence permit requires this medical, and is tied electronically to your labour contract. Your labour contract is issued by your employer but has to be registered at ministry of labour and the residence permit process requires the contract to be registered and the medical certificate to be issued. If you enter on an employment visa you cant leave before the process is complete, I say again, you cannot leave, you have no exit permit. I strongly suggest going on a visit visa on arrival, then taking the week required to do the employment application. You can do the medical anyway on a visit.
The process is much the same in other countries such as qatar. Dunno about kuwait.
That was a long way of saying your employer has no say about your medical suitabilty for residence, and the process is hard and convoluted. The short answer is to do a medical on a visit visa perhaps when you interview, and or seek advice from the testing hospital about whether your condition precludes issue of the certificate. Hope this helps you, and anyone else considering middle eastern employment....
