Qatar Airways company medical: color blindness

Dear all,

I'm struggling with the following issue. Hopefully one of you could help me here.
I am thinking about applying at Qatar Airways as an FO.
I have an unrestricted JAR class 1 medical and am currently flying for a European airline. I have a mild form of colorblindness, obviously within the limits of JAR FCL part 3. I passed my color vision test through an Anomaloscopy test. With most of the lanterns I have some trouble.

My questions are the following:
When joining QA, do you have to do a company medical if you already have a GCAA class 1 medical?
If you have to do a company medical, would they accept my European color vision test results, or will I have to go these stupid color vision tests again with a reasonable chance of failing some sort of Lantern test?

Thank you in advance for your help!

All the best,

My batch mate has same problem.. And yes!! You do require to do QCAA medical exam.
As he failed to read those colorblindness card during initial medical checkup.
QR sent him to UK for lantern test..but unfortunate he failed that ..
So QR didn't accept him even he has gone through all the ground trainings.

All the best to you mate..

Thanks for your answer! If i may ask, does your mate already have a (European) JAR class 1 medical? (Since the QCAA medical ->QCAR MED) is based on JAR FCL - 3 regulations...) In that case he should be able to use the lantern or anomaloscopy results which he used to pass his JAR medical to obtain his QCAA medical.

Take care
