Pilot career and eye fibroma
Hello everybody,
I was looking for some informations for my possible issue and i found this forum.
I'm 22 years old Italian and i actually live in Sydney and as many people i grew up with the dream to become a pilot, thing that is becoming possible only since i moved here in Australia.
My little(i hope is little) issue is a fibroma (a small white ball in my right eye) that doesn't at all change my ability to see, let's say that is more an estetic thing.
I ve already done the CASA checkup and also I've done two checkups from legal optometrists one in Italy and one in Sydney(CASA specialist).
Both of the optometrists said that that fibroma doesn't at all interfere with my vision and it isn't a problem regarding the ability to fly.
For CASA strandards is not a problem as well except for the CASA generic doctor that suggested me to ask more information regarding airline companies, because even this is not a problem they may come out with issues that can discriminate me in a future possible career.
Study to become a pilot for me like most of the people means borrow a lot of money so a big investment for me.
I already asked few opinion, even to a staff manager of an Italian airline company that said i can't be a problem.
Anyway, i was wondering if any of you here can give me more suggestions/opinions that for sure are also important expecially if they come from different countries and different situations.
