Thumbs up New ModBods!

About a year ago, Danny and Robin asked me to have a go at moderating Jetblast. I had a pretty good idea about the nature of the beast I would be tackling. What I had severely underestimated was the sheer size of it.
To get an idea about how busy this forum is, have a look at the main forum page, at the numbers for "posts" and "topics". And compare those to the numbers for other forums.

Enjoying this forum as much as I do, modding it is tremendously enjoyable.
At times it is also a big worry and keeps me awake at night.
Being a bit too conscientous about it means that whenever I am home, I spend too much time reading JB.
My family over this last year has gotten used to seeing mainly the back of my head bent over the keyboard. Not good.

Having a 1-woman-band in charge of JB wasn't good enough either. My personal attitudes, likes and dislikes have inevitably found their way into my modding efforts.
To give JB moderation a wider perspective, some excellent people have agreed to become co-Mods. They will come on-line over the next few days.
They will lend their time and brain-power to this forum. Military and civilian backgrounds, cockpit and cabin crew, hailing from different countries and different cultures, these people have a few things in common.
Sharp minds, a keen sense of humour, and a very high standard of achievement in their chosen fields.
Some very special people for a very weird forum.

And while I'm at it anyway, to all of you who have contributed so mind-bogglingly much to JB over these past 12 months;
Thank you for your patience with my fumbling efforts.
Thank you for all the laughter and the fun.
Thank you for educating me and making me think outside the box.
Thank you for being worthy adversaries and good friends.

Wellcome new Mods, Jetblasters please be your ususal gentle selves with them!

Flaps !

[1] -- MANY THANKS TO YOU FOR ALL YOUR WORK !

[2] -- Good luck(?) to the new mods !

[3] -- Your offer to make me a mod seems to have become mislaid. Please don't apologise -- I'll give you another chance if you ask nicely.

Sharp mind, keen sense of humour, high standard of achievement. Tis a burden, but I manage to cope.

I thought you were all looking a little conspiratorial at GatBash! Are the rest to be kept undercover, just popping up anonymously ( ) to keep us in check?

Enormous thanks for your efforts flapsforty.

This has to be the longest intro in history. Will the successful entrants please come from behind the curtain and introduce themselves to the audience? Turn up the gas lights.

(researches, prepares dossiers, works out plan ABC&D)

flapsforty -
I too wish to say THANK YOU to you for the tremendously good job you have done in moderating Jetblast for the past year. That one person could have handled the job is a testament to your diligence.

Welcome to your new co-MODs. Now that they are here dear flaps, please take some time away from Jetblast to heal.

Yours Ever - the "Mad Texan"

ps - "mad" as in "loony" and NOT as in "anger"

Hallo Folks!

I'm joining Flaps and Wholi for what appears to be the hardest task on PPRuNe...

Conspiratorial you say, AerBabe? I still wonder why Flaps kept buying me alcoholic drinks all the long of the Gatbash...
Maybe she didn't want me to be too scared when she finally proposed (But I was of course: joining the great Flaps on PPRuNe's arena...not easy!) Or maybe she was (succesfully) trying to blur my sense of judgement.

But I like challenges, so Bonjour JB, we'll see a lot of eachother in the future!

Thanks Squawk777 (I owe already you one from the "Fav Mod" thread ), Bio Kitten and all of you Jetblasters

See you soon!

Flaps,

Well done, gal. Just keep taking the sanity tablets and wean yourself off 'em slowly.

Speaking as one who turned down an offer to moderate another forum.... my personal thanks for flying solo all this time, hope you find it easier as part of a bigger crew.

[Really must get to one of those bashes soon. Prob'ly about time Drapes and I bought each other a beer as well as a G&T or two for your good self].

And a big welcome to those other poor suckers.......
