A Brief History Of Almost Everything.

All the Cosmology, Earth, and Human History you will ever need.........In 20 of your 'Earth minutes'.

A colleague sent me this recently. You'll either love it or hate it, but if you haven't seen it yet, pour a glass/cup of something nice, sit back and enjoy.

What a shame that the language is unsuitable for children - I have grandchildren that would have enjoyed watching that, but there is too much swearing.

Excellent! Seems civilisation is akin to a brothel...one cock-up after another!

The music sounds like something between Michael McDonald and Steely Dan.

You'd all be better joining me on Quora - if you're not already there. I spotted our most illustrious member there a couple of times.

There are some seriously clever folk answering questions on there. It is possible to look up their names and watch some of their university lectures. The math is over my head, but I just have to accept that now, it's not going to get better this lifetime.

One guy was showing Feynman diagrams and then the full formula pertaining to his famous sketches. Utterly fascinating.

If you want something of worth, get Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. It is stunningly good. Well it should be, it was winner of the Aventis prize for science books in 2004. And this was from starting out realizing he knew very little of science. A very funny and clearly brilliant man.
