Really interesting. I am the only non-Canadian in our family...

Since there are arguably more Scots and people of Scottish descent in Canada than in Scotland, perhaps it would be easier to deport all the current Scottish population to Canada and let the English enjoy their highland holiday retreats in peace?

Interesting idea but a complete non-starter: most Scots want to either remain in the Union or become completely separate. Of the latter group, some want to be sub-sumed into a European superstate. Although they may not put it that way, that is what it amounts to.

Don't think that joining Canada is on anyone's radar. has Mrs Sturgeon commented?

Ms. Sturgeon is likely to be too busy contemplating what to put in her resignation speech when she gets ousted by an outsider Tory candidate for her seat.

We've already got Quebec. We don't need another basket-case province scrounging off the rest of us and electing people who want to destroy the economy.

That is really stupid and back-to-front. With more Scots in Scotland, Canada should become a part of the new Scottish Empire.

Not if they think they'll bring their stupid politicians, we've got enough stupids of our own.

What ever happened to that other English dependency that wanted to join Canada? That is the Turks and Caicos? I always thought it was an excellent idea for Canada to have a Carribean territory.

Sadly Ms. Sturgeon cannot be ousted by mere votes as she will be the head list MSP. One of the drawbacks of the Scottish voting rules is it is hard to oust a rubbish MSP.

There isn't an election for the Scottish assembly, only for a parliamentary election for Westminster. So Angus Robertson will be out campaigning, but the dwarf will only be out on the street campaigning if she wants to help....
