Still here and going strong.
Signed up in the late -90s, lost some seniority with the Big Crash.
Been banned a time or two when some hot head issued a death threat on me and I told him to go and fornicate himself. A Mod though I needed a week of with no pay.

This has been an interesting place over the years with my inbox steaming a few times with promises of hot sex once and less pleasant promises other times.

What happened to Danny, still flying 747 or 757s?

Since Nov 2002 with the same name, but rather different employment status. Was a lurker from 1999 until encouraged by a visitor at work who had PPRuNe connections to sign up.

How many here attended the Ashbash (20/05/2000) and the subsequent 'party' at the Stansted Hilton? Can't believe that it's 17 years ago!

One would have a lot of posts if JB counted. Since I type fast, and ramble, I'd imagine I've got a word-count that would be well up on such a list.

Mid 2001, huh? Oh dear. Where do the years go?

I regret never making it to one of the PPRuNe bashes at the Gatwick Thistle. I was living in Italy at the time.

I wonder who's been "holidayed" the most without actually getting kicked off?

For me the irony is that I (armchair pilot) was directed to this site by my younger brother (my fault he's a pilot) and my other pilot mates all those years ago. Nowadays if I chat to them about something I read here or tell them about an interesting thread that's worth a read, they tell me "Gosh, I haven't been online for ages or they can't remember when they last logged on"....!

I came along in 1999 under a different user name. Cityjet in NZ was copping a flogging here in its early days. I only lost my original user name cos I left NZ and the ISP that I used for password recovery...it was easier to sign up for a new account rather than go chasing my original one. And yes i decided, in all my wisdon, to change my password when I was blind drunk..but do you think I could remember it the next day???

August 1999.

Blimey, that's when I was still gainfully employed.

Yes, I've got one of those, it's lurking on one of two boards of (mainly) aviation-related pins.

GG

May 1999 for me and user name taken from my first digital camera which I bought on the same day! Never banned but don't post often; only when I have something to say, unlike many on PPRuNe. Read most days.

Some very fine people have passed through these pages. I miss Daavar and Conpilot probably the most. And whirly gig. And Juud. And the professional civility. Great debates and great discussions. How many pages did we burn through during The Great Bog Roll issue? Or the guy who waxed his bottom and the advice he shared? I never laughed so hard! And the jokes? I still repeat a few of them on the crew bus now and then in hopes of generating some good humor and camaraderie.

Has our industry lost its sense of fun? Lost the easy camaraderie we once had?
