BBC early morning News on TV

Who in the Lords name picked this "Tigga" like guy," Aaron the Ozzie" who speaks so fast you need radar ears to pick up the trail of what he is shouting about, who dances off to the left whilst still speaking at Mach 1, waving his papers.. it annoys me when in my early delicate state at about 0530 nearly every week day ,

I would much prefer Carol Kirkwood to read news and let this guy " boing about" doing the Wx....he would prolly bollux that up as well..!

I'm a bit slow and don't watch the beeb much but I assume Aaron the Ozzie is Aaron Heslehurst (?sp) and he's moved over to mainline BBC then?

If it is I first remember seeing him doing the business stuff on BBC World and thought he had simply been recruited to go head to head with CNN's Richard Quest to see who deliver business news in the most lively manner at 3 in the morning...now that sort of made sense on a daft sort of way....can't imagine him as a mainline Beeb presenter.

I totally agree with Peter R-Bs comments. The bloke is a total irritation. I think he's been imported by the BBC in the hope that he can brighten up the business news.

The BBC thinks anything remotely connected to business or industry is boring - much better to have live coverage of a bunch of one-legged Albanians dancing in a farmyard somewhere (it's art, isn't it), than talk about what actually makes the country tick!

From Wiki:

"His specialty lies in the airline industry and Heslehurst has interviewed the heads of some of the world's largest and leading airlines."

So have I, but that doesn't make me an expert, nor have I any desire to be on breakfast TV. The producers no doubt enjoy the schadenfreude when they see the comments from viewers, so he won't be leaving just yet, I fear.

The budgets have been cut? Does that mean my TV tax will be cut too?

No chance, any money saved is to further fund Lineker and Norton.

I fail to see how any human being can perform like that at 5:30am unless they are on crack cocaine...!

But even at his worst, he's still not as nauseatingly irritating as Yalda Hakim. Because, as you know, no news occurs anywhere in the world. Ever. Unless she's there to read it to us.

BLEEEUUUURGGHHH!!!

I remember Richard 'shouty' Quest when he was on the BBC - I wondered where he'd gone to. Didn't he have an unfortunate encounter in Central Park?

I'd be happy to watch the luscious Miss Kirkwood read out a shopping list.

We find the same. My academic American visitors couldn't understand what she was saying at all.

Its market forces at work, most of the presenters are now freelancers, so come half term they all bugger off leaving the staffers behind.
Same thing on Radio two as well.

No problem with Steph the Smoggie, she's a canny lass yerno!

I remember going to a presentation course at BBC TV Centre back in the stone age. Most of it I've ignored or forgotten. But I do remember a current affairs presenter ask rhetorically how many punters' letters it took before the bosses took notice. Lots of wild guesses, all wide of the mark. His answer was 10 (obviously independent i.e. not from an identifiable pressure group) letters began to get their notice that there was something wrong. "Most people" he said "don't believe that their opinion will be valued, so they don't even bother to write."

Mind you this was before email/twit/arsebook days; but I wonder if Disgusted still writes letters from Tunbridge Wells.

That's because she's a Smoggy.

I have no problem understanding her, having been raised on Tyneside.

Must be a lot of insomniacs on here. Watching the business news at 0530? I still miss a lot of things from my days in the RAF, but having to get up at oh Christ hundred is not one of them.

Up at 0800 and the Today programme on Radio 4 with the volume turned well down is the best I can manage - or want to. Naughtie, Humphries et al may have their faults, but at least you can understand what they are saying.
