Over here we use tyre inner-tubes which are viewed as floating bathrooms. No problems unless you go too close to a waterfall

Would be a lot more fun if those on shore were provided bows and arrows.

stormchasing in Texas

Published March 28, 2017
Fox webnews, AP
"Three storm chasers were killed Tuesday after their cars collided at an intersection during severe West Texas storms.
Lt. Bryan Witt of the Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash involved a Jeep and a Chevrolet Suburban sport utility vehicle. He says one person was in one vehicle and two in their other.
The Weather Channel identified two of the deceased as Kelley Williamson and Randy Yarnall, who were both contractors for the network."Kelley and Randy were beloved members of the weather community," the channel said in a statement. "We are saddened by this loss and our deepest sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of all.""

Sir Terry Pratchett wrote in one of his novels that to fly all you had to do was to fling yourself at the ground - and miss

It was Douglas Adams in Life, The Universe and Everything:

Quote:
“There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

Many years ago, I was at an air show in which Patty Wagstaff was performing, and I had the opportunity to look over her plane. Prominently featured on the otherwise sparsely populated panel was a placard reading:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLIGHT

1) Fly at ground

2) Miss ground

Not sure this truly qualifies as procreation has already taken place.....
Homeless wacko helped by naive family - later kills two of said family
Well now who'd have guessed that as a likely outcome.

I fail to see the purpose of this thread. It seems to be a collection of unfortunate incidents. Are we supposed to laugh derisively at these unfortunates while we feel superior?

Do you know what a Darwin Award is? If not, enlighten yourself and that may answer your question.

But yes, the purpose of the thread is to derive some degree of amusement about the creative stupidity of others. A bit like "Hold my beer".

I do think there is some learning involved herein

I don't recall laughing since I watched that video of the guy accidently setting his balls on fire while drinking a flaming cocktail

He did survive alright but he made this board since it was unlikely he would procreate to beget another like-minded generation

Kewbick,

Yes, that pretty much sums it up.

Quote:
Schadenfreude is pleasure derived from the misfortune of others. Borrowed from German into English and several other languages, it is a feeling of joy that comes from seeing or hearing about another person's troubles or failures. It is an expression of pleasure or self-satisfaction at another's failure.
Feeling superior is up to you though.

"There before the grace of God go I" may or may not apply.

Some of us have done a lot dumber shit and survived.
