Prompting, predictably -

ONE TEQUILA .. . . TWO TEQUILA .. . THREE TEQUILA . .. . FLOOR ! !

Trying to remember - the Cadillac with the J34 turbine that became airborne before smashing into the other side of a canyon. Was that ever confirmed? And has anyone got any idea of the all time most outstanding three awardees?

Neville Shute was never a man to commit any stupid act of wilful irresponsibility but he did recall in a late memoir that the mint juleps that he knocked back with a woman who could hold her liquor while waiting at a New York railway station nearly did him in.

JATO into a cliff is false (according to Snopes). Arizona police said, at one time, they receive a call on this topic about once every 90 days!

Mythbusters actually tried it (albeit with a remote-controlled car) and it didn't take off and I think they did it where there was no nearby cliff. It was a while back but I vaguely remember that they were following it in a helicopter with Jamie driving the remote and had trouble keeping up with it.

The link doesn't work for me, but it's highly dependent on the individual - a half liter of 80 proof (or higher) can be lethal for some people.
Back in my college days, I was part of group doing emergency first aid on a couple girls who'd split a fifth of vodka - they both made it but it was really close...

There was a huge white American convertible that did manage to take off. It splashed down into a lake.

The driver/pilot was interviewed from his hospital bed. "It was one hellava ride".

Won that bet once. But started sober & PDQ stuck my fingers down throat. Felt a bit "ruff" next day but mostly quilt from wasting decent tequila.
Mitigating I was young & stupid at the time & didn't realise/think of the risks.

"A suspected burglar has died after getting trapped in the roof space of a chemist shop, West Yorkshire Police said. The man's body was discovered by staff at Rowlands Pharmacy in Queensbury, near Bradford, earlier.
It is thought the man removed roof tiles to get into the building and was asphyxiated when his clothing became caught.
The force said it appeared the man had been there for several weeks".
