Ahh, the new vessel is off the slip at last.

Was worried it had become a stealth ship and I had missed the boat.

I might try for an outside cabin this time. Is the pool open yet?

Oh well done, G-CPTN. Sorry to hear the skipper's not quite feeling up to scratch yet but we can get this new ship ready to go as soon as he's properly on deck.

Okay, well I've found my cabin ... right next door to the pool. Good-oh. Now, are Fluffy, Spot and Sooty safely on board?

Juud: you still in Belgium?
No, having reached the age of consent, I skipped across the border to the Nord-Pas de Calais, cauliflower country. In case I get homesick we have restaurants with names like De Drie Kalders and villages such as Godewaersvelde and the beer is almost as good.

Request permission to come on board.

My, my, this new vessel does appear to be quite welcoming. One appreciates a large foaming ale to quench one's thirst - especially when I've been slaving away on me canal, knocking walls down and such.

Here's the result of today's little effort.

That lock scene is reminiscent of the locks of the bit of the Rochdale Canal
that goes through Manchester City centre when I went through 35 years ago.
In fact it looks in better nick.

And it has the advantage of not being lined by druggies shooting up.

First voyage for me so I expect I might find my accommodation in steerage.

Wonder if I'm allowed anywhere near the bar.

Before I fell asleep last night (actually, after 02:30 this morning), I remembered something that I had to do today, however, when I became conscious today (11:30) I couldn't recall WTF it was that I had to remember.
I should have made a note on the desktop . . .

By mid afternoon I realised that I should be sending a birthday card to my youngest grandson for this coming weekend - and decided that that had to be what it was that I should be remembering - at least nothing else has cropped up so far.

Card sent.

My amnesia is extremely short term amnesia.
I think about something to do and then immediately forget about it within a couple of minutes.

Actually, it is usually well within one minute!
