Well, this is a surprise:

https://www.thelocal.se/20170530/fir...sessment-tests

Three in four of those asylum seekers subjected to a new method of medically assessing their age by examining their teeth and knee joints have so far been found to be older than 18. The national forensic medicine agency (Rättsmedicinalverket) began to carry out the tests earlier this year.

They are designed to make age assessment during the asylum process more accurate, after the migration authority was criticized for failings in assessing the correct age of some refugees claiming to be underage.

The agency has so far received around 4,200 requests from the Migration Agency and has completed assessments of the ages of a total of 581 people. It is only asked to carry out the tests in cases when the person's age is in question.

The test results in 442 of these 581 cases "suggest that the person examined is 18 years or older", according to Rättsmedicinalverket. Of these, 430 were men and 12 women.

Its experts also found that five of the test results, all women, "possibly suggest that the person examined is 18 years or older" and that in 134 cases (133 males and one female) the examination "possibly suggests that the person examined is under 18".

The method of medical age assessment consists of taking X-rays of wisdom teeth, and MRI scans of knee joints, which are then analyzed by dentists and radiologists.

The Migration Agency stressed the figures did not show that asylum seekers who lie about their age represent the majority of applicants, as the tests are only carried out in cases where it believes existing evidence is not enough.

"If all unaccompanied minors had undergone a medical age evaluation then the results would likely have been different," Daniel Salehi, a manager at the agency, told Swedish newswire TT. He said the result would then have been the opposite, that most unaccompanied children are indeed under the age of 18.

Over 35,000 asylum applications were made by lone refugee children in Sweden during 2015, followed by 2199 in 2016.

Frau Fatarse might need to do some explaining about this one.

I've already told Frau Hussar to think twice before she bitches at me the next time we're visiting her brother-in-law's family in Bodrum.

Sunday Times: TV film on migrant Muslims’ hate of Europe’s Jews axed

European broadcasters have been accused of censorship after refusing to air a documentary highlighting anti-semitism in Muslim migrant communities. The film, Chosen and Excluded — The Hate for Jews in Europe, depicts the plight of Jewish people suffering violence at the hands of their Muslim neighbours in cities such as Paris. The Franco-German broadcaster Arte and WDR, a German public broadcaster, shelved the film, saying it had failed to offer a “multi-perspective” approach and lacked reporting from European countries. This was in defiance of experts who had been commissioned to evaluate the film and who praised it, calling for its release. Germany’s highest Jewish body also wanted it aired.

Joachim Schroeder, the co-director of the film, said television chiefs had told him the subject of anti-semitism in migrant communities was “very sensitive ” and the documentary had to be “balanced” in presenting the problems facing all minorities. “If I make a documentary about Auschwitz, must I also report on the suffering of the families of SS guards?” Schroeder said. He claimed that TV bosses had believed the involvement of Ahmad Mansour, a German author of Palestinian origin, would ensure the film would “not be perceived as critical of Muslim communities”. When the bosses saw the finished product, however, they changed their mind. “It seems we hit the nail on the head and it was too much for the TV management,” said Schroeder.

Michael Wolffsohn, a German historian who was part of the team evaluating the film, said: “This is by far the best, most intelligent and [most] historically profound film on this subject, which is sadly extremely topical.” Götz Aly, another historian who has watched the film, accused the producers of outright “censorship”.

The film, which has been seen by The Sunday Times, was shot in France, Germany, Hungary, Israel and the Palestinian territories. It shows Jewish teenagers in a Paris suburb complaining they would have to join the exodus of French Jews leaving for Israel under pressure from Muslim neighbours. “This is a Jewish quarter surrounded by banlieues. We’re trapped here — when we go out we risk our lives,” says a Jewish schoolboy from Sarcelles, a Paris district that saw violent attacks on Jews during pro-Palestinian riots in 2014. The teenagers described frequent beatings. “Everybody here wants to move,” says one. “Almost everyone from Sarcelles has moved to Netanya [in Israel]. If you go there it’s like Paris — there are only French [people] around.”

Their testimonies are followed by an interview with François Pupponi, the Socialist mayor of Sarcelles, who admits the gravity of the problem but calls for the young to persevere for the sake of France. “French Jews think they have no future in France, that they have to leave the country to live in security and peace,” Pupponi said. He claimed that pro-Palestinian groups had encouraged hatred of Israel. “For a certain number of young people ‘Jew’ and ‘Israel’ are one and the same so if you’re against Israel, you’re also against synagogues,” he said.

Leading French and German newspapers, such as Le Monde and Bild, have joined the campaign to push for a release of the film. Josef Schuster, head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, said it was “extraordinarily important” for it to be broadcast.

Alain Le Diberder, the director of Arte, said the film had been shelved for “honourable and good” reasons and it had focused too much on the Middle East rather than events in Europe.

EU countries refusing to take refugees back from Germany

European countries failed to take back from Germany tens of thousands of refugees who have to claim asylum in the country where they first entered the EU, government figures requested by the far-left Die Linke party show.

Under the Dublin Regulation, migrants must claim asylum in the first EU country they enter. If they apply for asylum in another country, they can be returned to their first port of call. From the beginning of 2016 until March this year, Germany has asked countries in the bloc to take back 72,321 migrants, but only 5,321 of them were accepted, BILD reported Monday.

In May, some 14,973 asylum seekers were registered in Germany, up from 11,952 in April. Most of them came from Syria, Iraq and Eritrea, according to figures from the interior ministry. In the first five months of 2017, a total of 77,148 asylum seekers were registered in Germany.

Norway wants to ban full-face veils in schools

The Norwegian government on Monday proposed a ban on full-face veils in schools, universities and kindergartens. Oslo’s move follows in the footsteps of other European countries such as France, Belgium and the Netherlands, which also imposed restrictions on wearing burqas and niqabs.

Face-covering veils have “no place in Norwegian schools,” Per Sandberg, Norway’s acting immigration and integration minister, said in a statement. “It is a fundamental value to be able to communicate with each other.”

The government’s proposal is currently out for consultation and would apply to both public and private schools, and to staff and students. The ban would not apply to other headgear such as the hijab, the government said.

“Norway is an open society where everyone should be able to see each other’s faces,” Education Minister Røe Isaksen said......

If the law passes, Norway would be the first Nordic country to introduce a ban on burqas for both adults and children, Reuters reported.

The wearing of full face veils has nothing to do with the Religion and is not practiced by most.

According to an Islamic lady who went on TV to criticise the wearing of Burkas, etc these are woman at the behest of jealous men rather than being a religious requirement.

I imagine there is none better to comment.

To give her all credit she said that the various terrorist groups are not supported by the majority Muslims but that the majority only have a voice through so called "community leaders" whom no-one in the community has ever been asked if they want these individuals to represent them. She went on to say that the people who were acting in this "role" were favoured by the Left and the liberals because they conformed to their (Leftist) views and opinions, both thus feeding on their own partisan views for their own ends.

This was on the BBC as I recall but interestingly the interview seems to have been buried and not rebroadcast presumably because it does not fit the BBCs own agenda

Italy arrests asylum seeker for inciting terrorism

Italy on Monday arrested a 29-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker for supplying news and materials in support of Islamic State and who said those who do not believe in Islam "should have their throats cut", police said.

A southern Italian court ordered the man's arrest for conspiracy to commit international terrorism and inciting others to break the law, they said in a statement. The man sought to convince other asylum seekers living in a state-funded shelter in the southern city of Crotone to "perpetrate acts of violence with terrorist objectives", the police said.

"The Iraqi - considered violent and inclined toward criminal activity - had celebrated after the recent terrorist attack in Manchester," they said, referring to a suicide bombing last month at a pop concert in the northern English city that killed 22 people. In a recorded telephone conversation between the arrested man and his sister, he said he had been called to join the "holy war" in his country, but had decided instead to stay in Italy to "redeem the infidels" who "should have their throats cut".

Police gave no further details and said they would elaborate on the case later in the day.

The case will fuel Italy's increasingly bitter political debate over citizenship laws and the management of boat migrant arrivals ahead of a national election expected in the first half of next year. Over the weekend, some 1,500 migrants were pulled from unsafe and overcrowded boats off the coast of Libya and are now being brought to Italy by rescue ships.

Italy is on the frontline of Europe's migration crisis, especially after an agreement between the European Union and Turkey last year that virtually stopped boat crossings to Greece. Half a million people, many of them Muslims from North Africa and the Middle East, have come to Europe via Italy in the past three years, and boat arrivals are up more than 17 percent in 2017 on the previous year.

Almost 200,000 asylum seekers are living in Italian shelters as they wait to hear whether they qualify for international protection.

The total distance from Sicily to Tripoli, Libya is 321 miles.
The distance from Sicily to Libya's 12 mile territorial limit is 309 miles.
The distance from Libya's 12 mile territorial limit to Tripoli is 12 miles.
There are reports the NGOs (ferry service) are paying people smugglers in Libya to transport illegals to the 12 mile limit.

Van driver dies after migrants block road outside Calais

The driver of a Polish van was killed when it crashed into lorries stuck behind a barricade erected by migrants on a motorway near Calais. The van burst into flames. The heavy lorries had stopped in front of tree trunks placed by UK-bound migrants across the A16 coastal road between Dunkirk and Calais. Police were unable immediately to identify the driver.

The crash, which happened just before dawn yesterday, brought demands from lorry drivers’ unions for greater security. Migrants heading for the UK have streamed back into the area since the closure of the Calais Jungle camp. The 7,000 residents of the camp were moved out in October, mainly to refugee centres around France. However, some stayed in the area and hundreds have returned.

Roadblocks by migrants have caused accidents before but this is the first time that they have led to a fatality. On Monday refugees at the same spot as yesterday’s accident obstructed the road and pelted lorries with stones.

Nine Eritrean migrants found in one of the lorries held up by yesterday’s roadblock were arrested, an official from the Pas-de-Calais regional prefecture said. The men, who are believed to have boarded the vehicle at the barricade, were likely to face charges of manslaughter and obstructing traffic, police said........

Gérard Collomb, the French interior minister, has ordered even tighter security measures around Calais to prevent it from once again becoming home to large numbers of would-be British asylum seekers. He said that three extra units of mobile police had been sent to the town to “prevent disturbance of public order and fight the networks of people smugglers”. Mr Collomb said last night that he would visit Calais over the coming days and those responsible for blocking motorways would be punished.

I didn't know Bangladesh was in Africa.
It isn't, but Bangladeshis are using the Africa route to get into Europe. None of the countries in the list are war torn. I'm left wondering how we have so many Nigerian refugees in Hatfield. Refugees from what? They're economic migrants pure and simple and they arrive on visit visas and then remain. We had some problems with a Somali family who moved into a flat in our building. They have been moved to a new four bedroom house now by social services. Speaking to the Buy-to-Let owner of the flat as he surveyed the wreckage of his flat, he said they had paid the deposit, moved in and then refused to pay any rent. It had taken him ten months of legal proceedings to evict them. Once the court issued the eviction notice, social services step in to re-house the now homeless family. According to the rental agency this has become the 'modus operandi' for migrants to obtain social housing. they are hard to identify as trouble in advance as they always have ample cash for the deposit and a reference from usually, a pastor. As my (foreign) wife says "You British are letting the foreigners take advantage of you". She's right of course, but we wrote the rules ourselves.

Looking back in history, one can see that the Celtic Britons weren't invaded by force from the continent, it was migration by Angles, Saxons and Jutes fleeing the pressure in their homelands of the westward movement of people from the Ural region. The Celts in the east were absorbed into the Anglo-Saxon mish-mash leaving Celtic culture alive only in Ireland, the Western Isles and Cornwall. It is easy to see the parallels with today - I wonder if there will be a similar outcome from the mass migration into Europe from Africa, Asia and the Middle-East?

Blacksheep - without any doubt whatsoever. There are a good many parallels in our island's history.
Those in favour of immigration will say it all helps to enrich us - not for the people, who suffer the incoming tide, it doesn't.

Now flooding in from all over the world, including South America and the Caribbean - and Turkey opening the floodgates again. Happy days.....

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/w...rain-zb3gt6rmw

More than 400 asylum seekers from Turkey have reached Greece in the last two days, the biggest rise in migrant arrivals since April. The increase is the latest evidence that the migrant deal between Turkey and the EU is collapsing.

Ankara had agreed to shelter new asylum seekers heading for Europe and process them so that they would either be sent home or relocated across the Continent. In return, Turkey wanted money and visa-free travel for its 79 million citizens across Europe. However, the granting of visa-free travel is conditional. Last week the European Commission said that Turkey had failed to meet some of the 72 conditions, including human rights reform and security.

Officials in Athens told The Times that the Greek coastguard had picked up 289 refugees in one rescue, mainly from Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan over the weekend. Another 130 also reached Greek shores in a series of smaller, separate crossings. All arrived from neighbouring Turkey.....

On Sunday, 67 refugees, including 30 children and a baby boy, managed to reach the tiny Greek island of Farmakonisi. Most included Arabs from Kuwait and Morocco but many were also from Africa, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. In recent months, aid agencies have warned of rising numbers of human traffickers pushing scores of women from as far off as the Dominican Republic into European prostitution rings, forcing the sex slaves to pose as migrants......

The Sicilian capital is being threatened by a new Nigerian mafia that has teamed up with the local Cosa Nostra to control heroin and prostitution rackets, police have said.

Months after officers in Palermo rounded up the bosses of the murderous Nigerian Black Axe mafia, its rivals, the Vikings, who are also from Nigeria and use machetes to disfigure their enemies, are taking their place, sources have said. The gangs profit from managing the many thousands of Nigerian woman trafficked into Italy as sex workers over recent years — up to 8,000 last year alone. “When you take out one, others will try to fill the gap,” said Rodolfo Ruperti, head of the Palermo flying squad. Last November police used surveillance to capture leaders of the Black Axe, which operates throughout Europe and uses voodoo rites to intimidate African women.

The police investigation was triggered when the gang’s “minister of defence” was arrested after attacking a member of the Vikings with an axe. Now the Vikings, who favour red berets and use a secret handshake, are emerging as the dominant force in Palermo’s Ballaro neighbourhood, where the colourful street market is replaced at night by heroin and cocaine dealers. “The Black Axe are very hierarchical, with bosses from each town, a boss for Italy and meetings to elect a European boss, while we don’t know if the Vikings have a national boss,” said a police source. “They are less structured, with less of a code.”

Formed at universities in Nigeria in the 1980s, the Vikings have tried to pass themselves off as a lobby group, and demand their members in Nigeria have degrees and no criminal record. In Ballaro, they are working alongside Cosa Nostra, the source said. “The Nigerians may use primordial violence against each other, but not against the Italians,” he said. “There is harmony in Ballaro. Nigerian lookouts posted to watch for the police will alert Cosa Nostra members as well as their own.” The equilibrium is delicate, however. “If we weaken the Italians, the Nigerians may start to operate outside their own communities, just as the north Africans are now doing in Naples.”

Combating the Africans is complicated by a lack of interpreters who can translate wire taps. “Those we have are vulnerable to punishment in the community and we also need to be careful of spies,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Black Axe may be ready for a comeback, drawing from the 12,000 Nigerians who have sailed to Italy already this year. “There are houses in Ballaro with 30 new arrivals crammed in, ready to beg on the streets and ripe for enrolment,” said the source. “After our arrests in November, there are, however, more Nigerians stepping forward to denounce the mobs. We will make it harder for whoever tries to take over.”.....
