Doing 22 kts at the moment. Sadly there's a big windshift whipping up from behind.

Hm, after not changing position for the last week it seems, I've made up 15 places in twenty four hours. I hope this continues.

I'm not sure following me is a terrific idea - just lucky this time - so far.
Got to go away for a few days soon so I'll just leave it pointing at the finish and see what happened when I get near the internet again.

Nice job, Chksix! You committed to that "brush the coast of Brazil" route from the start and it paid great dividends!

Hope to join you sometime in the next couple of days. Sigh.

Cheers It was my first time to be just hours behind the leaders who all use routing software.
Next leg will be harder...

(may even become impossible due to lack of internet next week)

Well sailed chksix you made a decision tactically and stuck to it. I dithered and faltered badly, I should be in some time next week.

Well I don't expect to finish leg one before leg two starts !

Congratulations to those that have finished, especially the Swedish Captain that I initially couldn't follow the thoughts of !
Worked though - well done

I hope so, RainbowChaser is away at the moment I think and has limited access to the interwebbie thingie. I need a miracle on this and subsequent legs to make up for the disasterous first leg.

Rollox! Missed the start of Leg 2, once more because I found myself trapped onboard a long-haul flight, which came with it's usual side effect of brain fade.

Currently 500+ NM behind the leaders, in a measly 450ish place, with very little hope of making up much of what was lost.

Oh well, at least VikingAhoy is cruising on the sunny side of 21 knots, and the weather here at 45S is rather sporty.

Cheers brockie, I've had a nightmare of a first leg, only just finished before it was stopped.
Hope you had a good holiday, and nice to see you back.
