I see RC has extricated herself from the beach.

Not many miles separating the front of the pack. Next decision will be whether to go offshore to avoid the doldrums.

As planned, made a quick stop on a sorry little island of the Canaries to stock up on liquids. Some might say I'd run the ship aground, and that might not be far from the truth at all. Dropped 100ish places in the rankings, but by using nothing but sheer luck I've clawed them back.

Now for the next challenge: Near the coast or far off-shore? I'm sort of caught in the middle as is, and as per usual will eventually make the wrong decision. It might, therefore, be wise to observe VikingAhoy and do the exact opposite

I don't know why I bother trying to plan ahead, study the weather carefully plan and plot a course as a big wodge (technical meteorological term) of 1Kt wind wafts and encapsulates my noble vessel.

When I saw your course at the start I thought 'what the f' but it has worked.

must review close to coast sailing for future legs. Stuck with it now.

Haven't had any problems with access. Are you guys using the beta version? That's the one I'm on, and it works perfectly. Our dear leader posted directions to the beta version up thread, might be worth giving it a shot.

I'm using the beta. SOL seems to have been deleted from the DNS since my ISP can't find the server after trying for about 1ms

Edit: It's up again now!
Have to give up positions to try to bust through the doldrums to the south. Looks like the train of good winds has left the station.
