Night crew made a pig's ear of the last bits of the Great Lakes.
A question. Passing a marker (Outer Island Light. Pass NW) is the direction of travel important? I sneaked up on it from behind, due to having overshot and have now passed it twice but not showing as passed. Edited to add Passed it twice but Distance to go is still increasing. STFAGOS - off to the bar
I've decided to go the short way, although the winds don't look too good. I decided that if I went West i would be playing catch up and that has never worked so to the East of the Canaries for me (at the moment). The real fleet all seem to be following Beaufort !
As I am about to head out on vacation until mid-December I thought I should post the current rankings for our flotilla. For two reasons - one selfish and one unselfish. The unselfish is because we've been sailing a few days so its good to see where we are, the selfish is because I am probably as high up the ranking as I will ever be!!!
Have a good holiday Brockie, well I bit the bullet and headed West. On the face of it it looks like I've made the right decision, (must be a first) and avoided the light and variable winds closer in to shore.
Plummeted from my rightful place at the head of the PRU flotilla to somewhere near the tail end thanks to my unerring ability to, well, do it wrong. Reduced to farting prodigiously to make progress.
Off out for a funeral shortly, be a while before I'm back at the helm so I've made THE DECISION and it'll run. I wonder how much further back I'll go ?
