LonMore - no sorry. As I said before, SOL only displays national flags at present.
beaufort - sorry but at present SOL cannot alter the national flags "setup". The late, great AGage was the guy who could do such things in a trice but... <<sighs>> ... we'll just have to bear with what we have for now! You can revert to the Union flag if you like??!!
Please remember to use the Beta version of SOL for optimal functionality - after logging in, if your race url ends with # then hop back to the Homepage and click on the Beta link in the Race Description (on the RH Side of the page) OR just change the # for ?beta=true
Then... if its been a while or you are new to SOL, do make a point of reading the Beta Manual. Even if you don't read, learn and inwardly digest its entire contents, a quick scan will give you a sense of all that is possible with this interface .. most folks don't bother and end up being frustrated when they can't edit DCs etc etc.
Practice Racing / pre-race practice
This evening @1900utc there will be an Evening Practice Race. Starting from SOL Race Start there will be a short course set up - pink dots on-screen as the marks. These short and informal races are a brilliant way to learn how to SOL and, even if you aren't racing, to ask questions in chat about SOLing as there are always folks around to answer!
Maybe see you later!

The change in the name of your boat in SOL's Global Challenge does not affect your username or login credentials in any way. All other boats that you register 'tween now and the end of the SGC will remain unaffected.
In fact, as I may be on vacation as Leg 2 of SGC opens, you may have to start sailing under your usual names - I will change them as soon as I can!
As I am a SOL Admin I am not changing my boat name... but when I produce the Flotilla rankings here, from time to time, I will most certainly be included.
In advance, then, I shall apologise if I do really badly in Leg 1.. blame my being on holiday OK??!! absolutely nothing to do with my being rubbish at SOLing

Must confess, the Atlantic looks mighty big from the shores of France, and I'm not quite sure I brought enough liquid courage with me. Thinks, then, the best option will be to aim for the Canaries for a quick breeze through a local boozer. Boats run on liquids, or so I've been taught!
Brockenspectre I clicked on the sol manual link in #8 and it showed error on opening and caused me pooter to lock up. Grateful if you could check it again.
RainbowChaser 12:7 WELCOME to the PPRuNe Group... aviation AND sailing enthusiasts sailing as a group here.. prefix PRU_ :-)
Hope y'all have a splendid race. I apologise in advance for my result but as I will be offline from mid this week until, probably, mid December I will be straight-line steering!!
4PON4PIN - I just clicked and the pdf file opened fine for me but here is the full url if its easier for you:
I suspect it's going to be 'one of those' races as for some reason I thought the start was tomorrow. Luckily I checked, still the start line was nice and clear.
TheiC - 'tis done. Might take a few moments to update
HINT
If you want to just see where the PPRuNe Flotilla is, remember that with the Beta Version you can set up a separate boat list.
1. Make sure you are using Beta (race url ends in ?beta=true). If not go back to the Homepage and click on the Beta link within the Race Description on the RH side.
2. Click on the Boats Tab.
3. At the bottom of the column, select Create New List by Boat
4. In the window that opens, input List Name in the first box
5. In the search box type PRU to bring up all boats with the PRU prefix.
6. Click on the first name and, holding down the shift key (in WIN) highlight all the names and then select "Add" to create your list.
7. If you want me in your list, clear the search box and separately look for Rainbow and add me.
8. Click "done"
You then have the choice of showing just the PPRuNe Flotilla list on-screen as/when you wish :-)
This list will stay valid until the next time you clear cookies. Its easy enough to reset up and creating a boat list is a good skill to have on SOL!!
My excuse is that I'm not used to sailing on fresh water, and as fresh water is less dense than the salty stuff I actually sailed further than I calculated on my remote course changes.
(that's my story and I'm sticking to it, I'm still working on an excuse as to why I've sailed like I have in the other race)
