Struggling to see the aviation angle I mist admit. I use this site to get away from the Grauniad moaning... For God's sake don't start importing it !!!
According to Debkafile, quoted here, the Yarmouk factory was making Shehab ballistic surface to surface missiles for the Iranians.
Israel has conducted at least two other strikes in Sudan in the past few years, generally targetting Iranian weapons shipments en route from Port Sudan to Gaza via Egypt and the tunnels.
Reported 4 Israeli strike aircraft involved, with air-to-air refuelling over the Red Sea (tanker/s had their own fighter cover).
Lots of claims but not a lot of evidence. The fact that the Israelis haven't confirmed or denied doesn't make it so. Sounds like the Sudanese whipping up a bit of anti-Israeli hysteria.
Israel do what they want, when they want, unless Uncle Sam says so and it ever more will be so. The only reason they continue to exist is because Uncle Sam wishes it. In 1967, it is wasn't for a last minute intervention with supplies of munitions and equipment, it would have been 'game over'. The Israelis know this and as such, they are often held back from taking a course of action that they would have like to have taken. The status quo is therefore maintained in the ME, just.
The only reason they continue to exist is because Uncle Sam wishes it.
The reason Israel continues to exist is because the world wants it to. The UN (i.e. the world) adopted a partition plan in 1947, and since then, only a few Islamist extremists have called for this overall situation to be reversed (i.e. the destruction of Israel).
That Israel escaped destruction during the 1967 war due to the scenario you describe in a single line of text, is overly simplistic. After all, Israel's main enemies had been supplied extensively by the then USSR prior to that conflict.
The 'status quo' you describe can be mainly attributed to the inability of Arab countries to form any sort of workable political alliance (like the ill-fated United Arab Republic) at the time and, thereafter, to the fact that Israel has successfully built a largely secular, egalitarian and democratic society amidst neighbours that are often centuries behind in that department.

Israel continues to exist because the world want it to - absolutely yes!
However, Israel has Carte Blanche to do pretty well what it likes, both internally to the Israeli Arab and Palestinian populations, and externally, to the likes of Sudan and assassination of alleged terrorists outside their borders because the USA in particular will never vote against them in the UN, and the rest of us are too fearful of censuring them for fear of being branded anti semitic.
