I just recall the time we took the weather ship up to 50,000+. Saw almost the whole of the UK out the canopy, saw stars in the daytime looking straight up, then dropped 10 miles vertically down into a low level wazex.

That's the way to start your morning. I recommend it to everybody (except agoraphobics).

There was a better panorama of London knocking about tinternet a couple of years back it seemed to have a infinite zoom.

Desert Dingo - after shooting most of the pano, the tripod is removed and a 'straight down' shot (or shots) taken.


The stitching program then bungs all the photos together and removes items (such as the tripod shadow) which appear in one photo but not the rest.

Funnily enough one tires of the panoramas of distant mountains, the ones that show human ingenuity by way of buildings and machines are the most memorable images.

Thanks Little cloud. That shabby wheelhouse is the bridge of the Nordbord - a trawler! No wonder Danish ships have such a good reputation.
