This is a good comment on racism...........

What is a Racist? - Taki's Magazine

I particularly liked this ;

Another working definition of “racist” is:
Someone winning an argument with a leftist.

tell you what. I was about to reply to that post but it's late and I am in a bad mood so I will refrain. I refuse to lower myself to that level no matter how angry I am. I have never resorted to the ignore button TZ350 but you are getting close to being the first one I use it on.

Just occurred to me that honour killings are a rough equivalent to the US 2nd Amendment rights. We live with the corpses as a cost of the principles.

Some of us want more Muslims in our Western society and honour killings are the price.

Some of us want armed self-defense rights and periodic shooting spree murders are the price.

Ah, TZ as eloquent and rational as ever.

You are correct in that I made no comment with regard to your selective representations, or rather those you use and indeed the sources you quote, in a risible attempt to justify your beliefs, flawed though they clearly are.

Enjoying our tolerance....

Take an introspective look at yourself and your posts in this respect.

There is an irony to this however. I am prevented from posting on the UK politics hamsterwheel due to, err, "abuse".

In this case, the "abuse" was sardonic humour directed at your posts ( and for the benefit of the Mods) I really couldn't give the proverbial about TZ's "ever so slightly vitriolic" comments about me.

However, just for you sunshine, your current des. res. I assume?
This is what we call Being British of course..."nothing personal" as they used to say in Belfast .

Excellent article in Taki's magazine, TZ350. Loved the comment, and others.

A friend of mine was called 'racist' the other day when she said that didn't like Indian food, that is the extent to which some people will stoop to use their beloved race card. I just tell people that when they accuse someone of being racist, they've lost the argument.

Both in Greece and Botswana I have tried to explain to various authorities that I am not a foreigner I am British. Fortunately they had the British sense of humour.

One of my fondest moments was hearing an English Friend's howling upon being told to use the "Alien's" queue at Immigration one evening upon arrival in the USA!

Despite being a typical pompous bastard.....he is a good hearted fellow...and to see him reduced to near tears over something like this was priceless!

He is so "English" he refuses to own a pair of blue jeans.

I did have a pair at college and even wore them a couple of times. One has to try to fit in even if only for the first couple of days. Didn't go with my Harris Tweed jacket though. Seems to be an acceptable combination these days

Given the views expressed by some, I invite a response to this article.

In the context of being British ( sans Harris tweed of course, but a dedicated jeans wearer ) the article raises serious concerns for those of us who support a multicultural Britain and who would consider themselves to be British.

The level of ( limited) intellectual development would appear to be a common strand in perceptions it would seem.

I'm sure that the Trots and Pinkoes at the BBC and the Grauniad will alert us if any right wingers ever get any power in the UK.

Meanwhile, the LibDems have just shown us that they have no interest in running the country............they are only there for the politics.

Er, and the leader was a real coal miner, wasn't he?

The Guardian intertwines far right extremism with the politics of a certain struggling author. This is puzzling for the writer in question was of the right only inasmuch as Stalin was of the middle left. The one was a member of the Communist party while the other was a National Socialist. Neither party is, or was, renowned for its racial tolerance and both have always drawn their membership from the working mans' classes. These extremists are variant versions of the far left although it well behoves the liberal press to propagandize them as otherwise.

Hmm... The Mitfords? Edward the eighth, the Cambridge spy ring (Blunt, Philby, Burgess and Maclean) ? Oswald Moseley? oh yes good solid working class stock each one of them! And that is the thing, the working classes may be the cannon fodder but the true believers? Oh they tend to be from the better heeled section of society.

Some outstanding examples of " Britishness "...............

London 2012 Olympics: Why are festival organisers banning home made sandwiches from free events in Hyde Park and Victoria Park? - Olympic News - Olympics - Evening Standard

But this takes the cake ...........

Olympics 2012: Parkinson's sufferer Mark Worsfold, 54, arrested by police 'for not smiling' at cycling road race | Mail Online

Perhaps my sardonic comment about a new UK flag having a swastika in the center is not so far off.........." Sie muss lächeln! "

Even though this piece is written by a Canadian, it is so applicable ;

Anything Goes No More - Taki's Magazine

And sadly, the traditional British humor has been the victim.

"I have though, an active detestation of those who are right wing with extreme views"

And there lies the problem with the Left. I detest extremist of all types - left, right, up, down, sideways. The Left, however, see only right wing extremism as being beyond the pale.

That would suggest that the form of government embraced by Mussolini, Franco and the Greek Junta created a natural barrier between the extremes of both left and right wing? A little militarism is thus good for the moral soul of the people and the prosperity of society?

Nazir Afzal chief prosecutor for the NW area of the CPS.

Three recent cases in which the CPS was accused of Bringing prosecutions which threatened personal liberty and freedom of expression.

The latest of these concerned a gay barrister and London magistate Simon Walsh.
He was prosecuted by the CPS under Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 which among many things outlaws certain kinds of pornography.
He was cleared of all five charges brought against him by the CPS.

Even the lefties are getting a little worried at the direction taken by the CPS under it's new 'management'

Rather a lot of Spanish citizens over 50 will often come out with (sotto voce) "It wouldn't have happened under Franco"

Just like at one time a lot of Venezuelans would mutter "it wouldn't have happened under PJ" (although some older ones would say "... under Gomez")

I know a lot of Chileans who were pretty relieved when Allende got the boot.
