According to a bloke on the news who has worked at the security hiring, few of those employed can speak passable English.
My poor country what has become of thee.

Had a couple pretty thrilling rides in a P-51D, sitting basically on a board behind the pilot. He lowered the nose and retracted the gear to build up speed along the 5000' runway and at the end he rotated to about 60 degrees, pegging the VSI at 6000'/minute. This put us on top of the NYC ClassB airspace in less than two minutes.

When it was time to land, the controllers put us too close to traffic and we had to go around. I can appreciate that they were not used to working warbirds with the other traffic, but on our second approach, we would have had to go around a second time, except that the Beech Baron ahead of us had pity and he went around so we could land.

Had a nice lie in this morning. Well, sleeping until 6am is a luxury for me!

PYT still in bed, snoring like a two-stroke engine idling, cats have had their 15 mins of madness and are sleeping again, coffee being consumed in copious quantities, all is calm and peaceful.......... Bliss.

Of course, then she'll waken up and the neighbourhood will be in panic due to the screams from my wallet as she reminds me that it's "Solden" time and she really, really, really needs some new clothes............

Good morning everyone. A quite nice start to the day down here.

Went out for a chinky meal with the Cloggy visitors last night.
A good time was had by all, but I think we may have overdone
it a little with the vino. One is feeling just a little bit below par
at the moment. But it was a lovely meal.
They're off back to cloggyland this afternoon. It was really great
to see them again.

Morning all, a sunny one for a change.

Not something you see every day in the Guernsey Bailiwick, a BA airbus. This the Tango'ed one bringing the Olympic candle. It seems a lot of disruption for a couple of hours.

Bah, weather turning grey now. 1940s weekend at local hospice has been cancelled due to bad weather. Had a bit of a shock yesterday when visiting mum, turned a corner and walked straight into fully dressed stormtrooper!

Saw this in the paper today.

Council with a sense of humour?

Good morning all. Landed early at 0700, had a few cups of tea, a bacon buttie and shower. Was in 10A where you get extra leg room just behind the emergency exit on the JFK to MAN leg. Guy in 10C went to sit withy his mate. Had "dinner" and went to sleep, woken up at 0230 by this enormous woman who had lifted up the arm rests and figgeted the rest of the flight. Was not happy.

Having spent an entire year of my life in Wigan in the early 1980s, I wonder in which part of town that pub was/is, Mr Nigel.
Tis the Millstone on the top of Wigan Lane. Twas a very busy road when I was a nipper.

If you were in Stratford, East London, handsfree, the ground to air missives, located on yer roof, would have shot it down by now!....and then claimed "friendly fire".

Been into town for Sunday morning liveners and returned with new sun umbrella, advertising Mahou Cerveza, for the garden bar.

The cloggies have gone to the airport.
It's now strangely quiet without them.

Lived opposite Mesnes Park for a few months before moving somewhere else. Can't remember whether we ever went to Millstone but vaguely remember we frequented a Chinese takeaway on Wigan Lane. "Jimmy's Special" was the favourite. Now on that Google View there a more than a dozen takeways there now so couldn't tell which one we went to...
