Angels, It was about 6 years ago to the day when we had those few pints in the BOG in Southwark. Doesn't time fly. I've been back a couple of times since then, it's still a good little boozer.

I know what you mean Radz - we went through that when my aged mother-in-law died last November. Commuting 125 miles each way weekly and up to four times in twelve days before she passed away, then further regular trips to sort out details of funeral, sorting out house, will, etc., etc. and trying to take some of the pressure off my wife's sister aged 63 who lived local to her mother and had suffered a heart attack last year, we suspect through the stress of visiting her twice a day at home and in a retirement home for the last few years.

Oddly enough I thought that effect of stress this morning. Last autumn (September?) I was in the local branch of Maplins looking at something I couldn't afford () when I went all dizzy and my sight in one eye seemed to be mostly obscured by what looked like a black fog for a couple of minutes. After that it cleared with no further effects and didn't happen again so I forgot about it. I was in the local health centre this morning waiting prescriptions for me and my wife and I read the details of symptoms of TIAs (Transient Ischaemic Activity) on a notice and remembered that incident.

Hmm.....

Perhaps I should mention it to the quack sometime when he calls me in for a check-up.

GG

New car prices though!!!
What the F... !!!

My first car was a Morris Minor Convertible, cost 560 quid, on the road, drive it away, Frilford Grey with red upholstery.

Saved my life when I was savaged head-on by a rogue lorry, and the rescuers were able to tear off the roof and pull me straight up, instead of dragging me through jagged bits of car.

Next was a Traveller, can't remember how much I paid for that, but substantially less than a 1,000.

But then .. my father sold the family Morris 8 for 20 quid.

World's Gone Mad.

Customer comment form duly completed specifying excellent service without going into details
.

Years ago my ex worked for BOAC/BA, they would gather in the customer comment forms and take them to the galley, they were open each end so the made them into a cylinder and were able to read the comments, good ones were submitted, bad ones went straight in the gash bag!

Morning all, thoughts to Mrs Ibby and big hugs to Radz.

A big day for me today but I don't want to tempt fate by saying what it is until it's completed.

Yet another bright, sunny morning in Orkney. It's rather worrying, we're not used to consecutive days of sunshine. Temperature at Kirkwall airport already at 50F and it's not 9am yet

In 1972 I bought a new (basic - ie cheapest with no extras) Vauxhall Viva HB for £762 - though that was with a 15% employee discount.

SIL bought bro Draper a chargey up drill a few years ago(Bro Draper likes drilling holes in stuff)however the batteries are about buggad, spent a lot of time yesterday on the google thingy trying to track down replacements, just none to be had,all these cordless drill companies seem to produce proprietary batteries that will only fit their own kit,it's a buggah.

Mr. Draper, strange that you cannot find batteries in the UK. Even here in little Norway such things are available on the Internet.
Batteri til Verktøy, driller, Dewalt, Bosch, Hilti, Panasonic, B&D Firestorm etc.
If your Norwegian is not up to the task, let me know make and model and I will do a search for you.

His Kit is Nupower dunno if it is even still in business.
Plenty of hits on google but most just seem to be to draw you into other sellers of cordless drills or batteries and nowt to do with Nupower drills.
That really ticks me off when you google summat.

Nope, no Nupower on that site, probably never sold here as I can't say the name ring any bells and I'm a tool man.
