dystopia - a society under a repressive and evil regime, often under the guise of a Utopia. An example would be Scotland under Macbeth

bystander - strictly, a person at an event or incident who does not take part. My Dad was a London firefighter and was quite used to them, only they were called rubberneckers, but he told me that many's the time he would have liked to turn around and let 'em have it with the hose.
