I must be one of the few people with a foot in each camp.I find Clarkson quite witty and amusing, although his show has degenerated into the most awful, dreary repetitive and formulaic rubbish. In truth I never get trough a whole show any more and most weeks don't even bother.
The little fella I really don't see what he is for, amiable sort of kid but apparently they weigh him out a couple of million quid for really very little. The posh gay one I quite like but he is much better on plonk than cars.
Clarkson really is an excellent wind-up merchant and I kind of identify with him. He's a misanthrop in truth. When I look around the world today that seems a very sensible position.

" oh good, KnC will be pleased"
I was, as you can imagine, overcome with emotion comrade.....there again, any organisation beginning with "Of" will only ever be a placebo and not an effective regulatory body....Ofmast. is a polite summation of their collective capabilities thus the findings were only to be expected.
Hence the "victory for common sense" mantra vomited forth sadly only serves to confirm that such adherents to this belief need to indulge in physiotherapy although in many cases the muscle in question has long since atrophied and is thus beyond salvation......
As for the "divine one". well the ego has long since overidden the brain to mouth function and he will continue to promote his one dimensional, turgid and immature personality for the simple reason he earns a lot of money by doing so.
If he was as talented as he professes to be, and as many perceive him to be, he would diversify and demonstrate as much....the other two presenters however, cannot even combine their limited talents to make a collective credible entity and thus the trio will doubtless continue to be available for those who are of the same ilk.

But that's the thing, he doesn't profess to be talented, he puts himself out as an paunchy, middle aged, non-PC misanthrope with an opinion and that's why as a journalist and a presenter he's appreciated as it sets him apart from all the 'out of the same bland, toned abs, bronzed skin, chisled features, nothing to say but PC cookie cutter mould that so many others do.

Where have I seen that debating tactic before? Ah, got it - hiya Lobey, how many more names are you going to post under round here?

" And it seems you were correct as yet another envy riddled diatribe graces JB's hallowed pages "
Aaaw...and I gave you an honourable mention as well although my post was hardly a diatribe...no envy at all on my part...possibly some with others ( albeit manifesting as adoration ) however for getting paid considerably less....... whilst having the same attributes as Clarkson et al.........
Duckbutt....erm sorry, no split personality here sunshine, just me...
Well, I'd miss Clarkson. He's light, amusing and shoots from the lip. I've never understood the vitriol directed at him. Does that answer your question, AO?
The whole programme and format was a creature of its time. They ought to dump it, forget cars for a couple of years, and come back with a new format. May be call it "Austerity cars"
