Micro oven

After brief research (three ovens) why does the plate with food on revolve anti clockwise?

Electric motors always turn clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere because of the Earths Magnetic field.
Smith and Wesson Chambers rotate anti Clockwise and Colt Chambers rotate clockwise, nobody knows why.

mine (Whirlpool) doesn't. It always starts up going the opposite way to the previous one.

Our LG stops and goes the other way as the ISS goes overhead.

Wings...Be honest, it don't go clockwise. I have downloaded (will try to post) a link from the site of Prof Augustas Balls of Vienna who is the foremost expert in this field.

Hoping to post his latest on Physics Today. Just a taster....Micro ovens. "Does food cook faster clockwise/anti in micro"

This is serious.

Mine goes either way, depending on it's mood.

Yours must be of a left wing origin.

Have you considered placing it on a conveyor belt or taking it to New Zealand?

Would putting a northern hemisphere microwave on a circular conveyor belt in New Zealand confuse it so much it would explode?

Mine rotates one way after startup then another if paused/restart or new start.

Why cant I ever get the center bit of food to heat up? I mean everything else gets charbroiled to a crisp except the center bit which stays as cold as an eskimos snatch.

Stop sticking legs of lamb in it.

Also, don't just pull your meat out and chow down. Give it some time to rest.

Slasher,

Put your food on a smaller plate and put the place off-centre on the turntable.

Slasher, don't bother with all that. Go out into the street, hail a passing Woman, and instal her in the kitchen. Retire to a comfortable place and have a stiff drink to get all that kitchen stuff out of your mind.

Then you'll find it doesn't actually matter which way round the turntable goes. The food comes on a tray brought in by the Woman.

Flies survive inside a microwave by flying (hence their name) round staying in the cool (not radiated) spots. Since they are airborne it doesn't matter which way the plate is rotating.

Henry, That's exactly how it should be. Superb illustration. I showed it to Mrs C who sometimes has trouble with understanding the concept of grateful service, and now she understands it perfectly.

Yours etc, from the shed.
