"Great New Ideas"

The current Government appears to want to have some "Great New Ideas" about how to manage the country.

Do they think that we are all completely stupid? They've had 13 bl**dy years to implement their great new ideas, and all we've had as a result is what Blacksheep listed, plus all towns around LHR being full-up with asylum seekers.

I wish Broon and Mandy lived in either Slough or Hounslow. They'd do something about it then!!

I agree, and I have told my family if Gormless gets back in we are selling up and leaving the country.

when there are so many other ways of communicating to the masses?
The masses are down the pub, at the match, watching soaps or playing video games. Its the uncommitted "don't knows" and "don't cares", sitting at home on polling day who allowed The Bliar and Gordon to bring us to ruin. Its the thoughtful we need to reach. The people who read, think about what they've read and ask questions who are the target audience. Those who chuck the printed word into the bin without reading it don't care and don't count.

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs.

The seven dwarfs always left to go to work in the mine early each morning.

As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.

As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.

One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there had been a terrible cave-in.

Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.

'Hello...Hello!' she shouted. 'Can anyone hear me?

Hello!'

For a long while, there was no answer. Losing hope, Snow White again shouted, 'Hello! Is anyone down there?'

Just as she was about to give up all hope, she heard a faint voice from deep within the mine, Singing;

Vote for Gordon Brown, vote for Gordon Brown, vote for Gordon BrownSnow White fell to her knees and prayed, 'Oh, Thank you, God! At least Dopey is still alive.

Are always going to be that way, yet campaigners still stick leaflets through every single door in Britain, thus wasting huge resources on people who they (yourself included) say won't take a bit of notice anyways.

Just like those of our political masters, your arguments don't add up!!!

Blacksheep.

That lovely Gordon didn't vaporise MY pension at all.
The Memsahib beat him to it.
And in response to your other questions,
No.
No.
No.
And finally,
No.
Thank you for asking.

Aye, doorstep conversions and The War Cry. Like the Jehovas Witnesses, Latter Day Saints and Salvation Army, we can only march on, always in hope and often, against all the odds, claiming a few converts. One can but live in hope, eh?

But there's much more to it than leaflets. I've had some interesting chats with people while out dropping leaflets. Thinking people mostly. The BIG question I always put to them is "Do you really want another five years of Gordon Brown?" If not, what are you going to do about it?

Norm, all those no's. You've been a very, very lucky chap. Maybe you should vote Labour?

Nice cartoon in the Times (UK) to-day, pointing out that GB has been elected as many times as the Queen.

Blacksheep,

The Jehovah's Witnesses, Latter Day Saints, Sally Army etc don't make me pay extra tax on fuel, or increased costs on road fund licence, or passenger tax on airline travel or many other taxes that are claimed to be used towards making me more green.

Less paper through my door is what I want, politicians and their supporters should lead by example. that is what politicians are supposed to do after all

Door to door campaigning is one thing and I agree you could have some good conversations that get people thinking, though to be honest it is your opinion against theirs as politicians 'facts' are very well hidden behind headline agendas. However there is no need to shove paperwork through every door

Don't forget to put the leaflets in the recycle bin. After you've read them of course...

It's not just do we want another 5 years of Gordon Brown that
I'm worried about.
It's could we manage to cope with 5 years of the Dave & George show?
I know what I'd like to see in power, and it isn't those two for certain.

Who would that be then? Our tony draper would be a shoo-in, even with his occasional liberal tendencies.

we must read the same blogs. Labour keeps trying to smother this disgrace, but someone presists in reloading it.

The teacher - sorry, commissar in charge of this class - should be dismissed and have his assets seized. Anyone with a modicum of integrity would not attempt to brainwash children like that.

One good thing about having registered for a postal vote is that when they turn up on the doorstep, you can say "I've already voted", well in advance of the day.

They don't want to talk to you after that.

Don't knock the good old British tradition of shoving a leaflet through your letterbox.

You could end up like Oz and have the national leaders phoning you fer chrissake! Or sending you a personal email. All thanks to the trickery of IT.

(and yer can't opt out of it 'cos political parties are absolved from the telesales rule)

Hear hear, it was absolutely nothing to do with the fanastically dynamic & progressive John Major administration, Michael Mellor's toe job, Michael Mates & Asil Nadir, Back to basics, followed almost immediately by Tim Yeo's affair, Neil Hamilton's cash for questions & Johnathan Aitken's trusty shield of justice.

Come off it BS, I'm no follower of Brown & Nu Labour, but if you're going to bandy about a high moral tone, you really ought to do something about your short term memory loss & these are just the ones I remember!!

If you don't want to be bored to death with the Election on TV, tune into Sky. La Burley is going to tell us all she knows, so the program should be over in two or three minutes......
