SMITHTOWN, N.Y. - A teenage worker taking out the garbage at a Long Island doughnut shop fell into a sewage pit and died Sunday night.Amiri Zeqiri, 17, slipped into an open cesspool behind a Dunkin' Donuts in Smithtown, 40 miles east of New York City, police said. There usually was a manhole cover over the cesspool, a hole that collects drainage and sewage, police said. The victim's younger cousin found him in about 8 feet of water and ran to a nearby store for help but when he returned the teen was no longer visible.
Suffolk County police pulled the teen from the cesspool and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Doughnut shop parent company Dunkin' Brands Inc. didn't immediately return a telephone message left after hours at its headquarters in Canton, Mass.

There was a young man from the Clyde Who fell down a sewer and died. Next day his brother Fell down another.. Now they're "interred" side-by-side........
I think I have a reasonably balanced sense of humour, but the person you're talking about is somebody's son, brother, friend, and as such I think the comments are inappropriate. Just my opinion, no doubt others will continue to think it's funny.
A shiitehole? Long Island? Having lived there for 7 years of my then wayward youth I came to realize that not only is Long Island the said proverbial shithole but it is incorrectly named and should be, instead, Wrong Island.
As in: "look dear, the boat let us off on the Wrong Island."
