When I see Live 1969, I think of this:
From the archive, 7 July 1969: A glimpse of Britain in 10 years | Music | The Guardian
The Rolling Stones headlined, shortly after the death of Brian Jones, with Mick famously reading some poem. However, according to this and other reviews, the show was stolen by an obscure band called King Crimson. What happened to them, I wonder..?

Last year I had the remotest idea or interest in who was in the charts. Still think Queen is one of those new bands!

Woodstock!
And in April of that year a certain Robin Knox-Johnson completed a solo non stop circumnavigation in Suhaili. (Note: his book "A World of My Own" is a good read)

Newcastle won their only European trophy. Captain Bobby Moncur scored twice - the only goals he ever scored IIRC.
I was in the BOAC ops room at Prestwick at the time. Bloody hot summer it were.

That is a great find Master Draper. I will have a look on my now-ancient 5 year old computer.
I recall stories of our house being one of the few on the block to have a color television, bought for the specific reason to watch the 'moon shots' as they were called. That purchase was at Mothers' insistence.
1968, the year of my birth was more infamous than famous among the historical events contained within.
