I would sacrifice a part of my postage stamps & covers reference collection
(a small deal of it, the most modern and with relatively low - alas - postal historical value, is indeed aviation related).
I hope that the other fellow philatelists that know me are not reading this thread (I could easily be "discommunicated").
Nice topic, IMO Good continuation, (back to my medication ;-) -- prosit = cheers)
Intrigued as to why this is in JB?! You will get some ridiculous and serious answers in Wannabe sections that you'd think should be in JB . . . Here's some potential answers:
What I sacrificed was a career, relationships, money, time, holidays, cars, peace of mind, chance to own my own place, friends, travel, clothes, shoes, a social life.
Was it worth it? Uh no. Would I do it again? Maybe, but with changes.
What Corsair said but additionally: a couple of working vertebrae, my hearing, a family (making amends with the kiddies now they are older), some range of motion in acouple of limbs, my original hair colour (all went white after a big get off) and a long quiet retirement.
I would do it again but be more careful regarding my children, I would also not have married that stupid cow that didn't believe me when I said "take a good look, I'm not going to change"..come to think of it that would have taken care of the children thing as well.
