The football...

What do we do now? Subs? Nuclear subs wouldn't save us.

Only England could **** up like this.

Israel threw us a lifeline, but didn't tie it to the boat, clearly.

I think we're ******. All 5 words in an England footballer's vocabulary can't express how ****** off I am with that first half performance.

(Sorry - this is kind of an Englishman/woman's thread.)

I'm not qualified to comment, but suffice to say 5 million souls pi$$ed off due to a footy game is quite sufficient for such a small island. Another 50 million won't help matters.

Hope things improve 2nd half.

Hear the weekly wages bill for the team is 820,000 quid, think they could get proper blokes for that.

Pinched this from BBC website

That's it then. Russia's win puts them ahead of England in the Group E table. Steve McClaren awaits the press mauling tomorrow. It's not going to be pretty.

Don't usualy watch football, a good game (For Croatia), I guess. England looked out played throughout the match and Croatia earned the win...
Now remind me Sam, Netball, that's the game with long-legged girls in shorts, right?

Eff oh.

Don't think scotland will be there either.

Terrible performance from England tonight. Deserved to lose, and on this campaign didn't deserve to qualify. Sam Allardyce should have had the job when Sven left.

Yeah you are right, nothing to do with luck! england are an inferior team period! Glad someone is agreeing with me, didn't expect that.
Yeah we won't be there either, but we had a far superior campaign than you. At least we can hold our heads high.

Well they may start to look at what is wrong with the national team & why The Premiership Gravy Train - the best league in the world we are told - is not producing a national team England can be proud of. They might look at the manager and the coaching system and why English players only rarely perform in important games.

But they probably won't.

Sad for me to say but I think the result is the best thing that could have happened because the problems with the game surely can't be ignored. Can they?

We were outplayed tonight. Croatia were great.

Eff oh: Teach us what it's like to have that Socttish 'passion' - the one for losing at everything, all of the time. Maybe we can achieve those same outstanding levels as the Scots. It's gonna take a lot of work. Our team can be bad - very bad... but as bad as Scotland? It's a big ask. McClaren's the man for the job.

At least we can walk away from this knowing that we didn't do a pop song for the group stages of the European Championships.

I don't think we deserve anything for not being good enough, unlike another team I can think of.

England have too many players who think they're better than they really are...and the obscene wages most of them earn probably subconsciously supports their delusions of grandeur...

The Croatians played controlled passing football...England resorted to the long ball...the right team is going to the finals...

You lost again.

As usual.

Why would you be proud of that?
