BTW, are you ever going to answer the questions on constitutional government, what powers the Congress and President should have, how free citizens relate to that government.
To what end, GF ? It won't change your mind about anything and my views on the Constitution would not likely sway any other voter. The candidate's views might -- but not mine.
In case you haven't figure it out, I'm not here to debate my views or yours. Think on it. It might come to you.
BTW, my lovely bride (watching the morning news) has informed me...
"So McCain, who now poses as the scourge of Wall Street, was praising financial deregulation like 10 seconds ago — and promising that if we marketize health care, it will perform as well as the financial industry! "
O'jahnae Smith is ready and registered to vote this November.
There's only one problem: She's 7 years old.
ORAC,
You're pointing out the facallcy of your own conspiracy. How would a 7 year old ever get to vote ? Would she walk into a polling place and say, "I just look young." ?
Most assuredly, ACORN has some problems. From what I've read, half of the problems you bleat about were pointed out by ACORN itself.
Or could it be that it's all a smoke-screen ? Could it be -- as the fired U.S. Attorney said -- an attempt to justify the voter suppresion that the Republican Party is engaged in ?
Democrats are singing up people to vote. Republicans are purging voter lists. Which one sounds like they're willing to let voters decide ?
Spelling, please, if you are going to critique another's sentence structure, please spell correctly. Bush, btw, has a Yale undergrad degree and a Harvard MBA, might actually be one of the most educated Presidents in modern times,...
LOL ! Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess, GF.
Don Brown
P.S. Check my spelling for me if you please. I know I write all day but I still can't spell. My children laugh at me about it, so feel free, you can too.

Insightful. Glad to see it confirms what I thought I saw...Obama can win without any of the remaining "toss up" states. RCP shows him with 277 electoral votes. He doesn't even need the remaining 103 "toss ups."
"Iglesias said Republicans in New Mexico expected him to put loyalty to the Republican Party above the law.
"Only one case of the over 100 referrals had potential. ACORN had employed a woman to register voters," Iglesias said. "The evidence showed she registered voters who did not have the legal right to vote. The law, 42 USC 1973 had the maximum penalty of 5 years imprisonment and a $5,000 fine.
“After personally reviewing the FBI investigative report and speaking to the agent, the prosecutor I had assigned, Mr. [Rumaldo] Armijo, and conferring with [a Justice Department official] I was of the opinion that the case was not provable. I, therefore, did not authorize a prosecution.
"I have subsequently learned that the State of New Mexico did not file any criminal cases as a result of the" election fraud task force. "
Insert something about two birds and one stone. I'm currently looking for the list of States where the FBI raided ACORN offices. I've got five bucks that says (whoops, sorry, you're not the bettor) all of the States raided are "toss up" States. Which means Georgia isn't on the list. Care to explain that one to our overseas friends ? Before I do ? Better hurry.
I finally found it. A video clip from "The Daily Show" taken from a news segment on (what else) Fox News. (Check the 10-9-08 video of "The Daily Show") I wondered why I was having such trouble finding it. I guess Fox was the only channel biased enough to run it.
The States with "VOTER FRAUD INVESTIGATIONS" (the only thing missing is exclamation points.)
NV, NM, MO, WI, MI, IN, OH, PA, CT, NC, FL
Now lets check the RCP map I posted earlier for "toss up" states.
NV, CO, MO, IN, OH, WV, NC, FL
Hmmm. NM, WI, MI, and PA were toss up States not long ago. I can't explain CT anymore than you can explain why GA is missing from the list. You know, GA, where there is a huge minority population in Atlanta and you just know ACORN (or somebody like them) has been signing up voters. I guess that means GA is still safely in the Republican column.

As a average controller in my past life, a reasonably good wrestler, a goofy foot surfer and a cautious pilot, I say we're going to have to wait to see who's correct.
Has it occurred to you, GTF, that a possible reason voter fraud investigations happen in swing states is because that is where the biggest returns on voter fraud/ACORN efforts are?
As ORAC pointed out, the 7 year old won't be going to the polling place. The ballot will be mailed in, voted on-line, or someone else will go to the polling place in states where the left has successfully resisted the logical requirement to show a photo ID to obtain a ballot.
I presume you support any tactic that works to put your candidates in office, never mind the fraudulent, illegal, unconstitutional problems resulting from the method. Don't apologize, it's the nature of your ideology.
but he's the lesser of the two evils we're faced with.
I'd agree with that.A vote for Obama is very risky;fine rhetoric does not good policies make. What worries me about him is that if you dared look under the veneer you might find that theres..nothing.
Lets call a spade a spade shall we..nobody dares mention it but this vote will come down to race..only Colin Powell could walk into the country clubs and get the white vote.Obama will get the blue-collar and liberal vote but how many white-collars can he hope to get?And yes, that middle name is important..It shouldnt but it does matter to a lot of people that the next President will have Hussein for a middle name.
So,its not the economy..we dont know what either one of them would do to tackle the economy anyway..they havent said. Its about race.America is all about race.Polls wont tell you a thing..people dont reveal their innate misgivings and prejudices out in the open..if the ballots secret, then they will.
In light of Dutch arrogance toward outsiders, I find it odd it's even mentioned by you. But as you've indicated, you heard it said.
Oh boy, seems ol' Westie is getting desperate? Well then since, as usual, you don't believe me, read this...
I believe ACORN is the last straw McCain and his bulldog Palin are hanging to. Even ueberneocon Bill Kristoll is advising to "Fire the Campaign", concentrate on the real issues and throw out the straw men, red herrings and guilt by association, though it might be too late. But by all means the ORACles, Westies and Con Pilots may stay with the old, but dysfunctional GOP (read Rove) strategies, a sure way to defeat.
A lot of people believe your premise, Rananim, but I don't.
Powell could have won based on his quality as a candidate, and reasonable expectations of what he would do in office.
I find that a good portion of Obama's support comes from an idealism, shallowly based IMHO, that isn't cognizant of any performance expectation. I submit that on the whole, Obama's race is more of a help than hindrance to his prospects, certainly with black voters, and many white voters as well.
No one knows what Obama will do because he has no record of having done anything. No matter, he is a leftist and if elected will do what leftists do. You make your own choice as to whether that is good or bad.
The daily Gallup has a very good and recent breakdown of voter support for each candidate by race. I suggest you peruse it to discern a pattern. It may challenge your stereotype of the American electorate.
1) Is he really African? According to one look at his family tree, only one great-great-grandparent is a true African, and six great-great-grandparents are Arabs. Thus if bloodlines mean anything, he's one/sixteenth African.
2) While it's undeniable that some fraction of white voters would not vote for Obama over McCain for racial reasons, there is probably an equal number of Blacks who would not vote for McCain over Obama for racial reasons. Net effect? Very small.
#) RL pointed this out an hour ago: Obama's $250,000 threshhold for "small business" tax increases is WAY BELOW the Small Business Administration's definition of a small business. Anything bigger than a two-car garage shop probably would suffer greatly under Obama.
Has it occurred to you, GTF, that a possible reason voter fraud investigations happen in swing states is because that is where the biggest returns on voter fraud/ACORN efforts are?
I thought I pointed that out for you BeenThere. Remember Georgia ? So when Georgia turns into a "toss up" (I can't even believe it's "leaning") will the investigations start here ?
John McCain didn't start the investigations, not the Republican part (well, supposedly anyway.) We're talking about violations of the law right ? The investigations would have to be by the legal authorities -- the U.S. Attorney, State or local Sheriff. There are only violations -- "massive fraud" in the swing States (plus CT.) ??? Dang ! Those folks in the Obama camp sure have predictive powers
I don't have to repeat the entire entry from above do I ?
“After personally reviewing the FBI investigative report and speaking to the agent, the prosecutor I had assigned, Mr. [Rumaldo] Armijo, and conferring with [a Justice Department official] I was of the opinion that the case was not provable. I, therefore, did not authorize a prosecution.
"I have subsequently learned that the State of New Mexico did not file any criminal cases as a result of the" election fraud task force."
At least you're honest, Rananim. You missed a couple of things but at least you're being honest about it. "White collar" is voting for Obama just fine. It's the white "blue collar" vote that will be the problem. Not many in the business community will be voting for him either. Of course, with the economy like it is that might change. I read a good one from a pundit today -- America doesn't vote black and white. It votes Green (as in dollars.)
I can only hope we rise above ourselves. And I think we will. If a white Georgia redneck like me can vote for Obama, there will be others.
BTW, do you think the average racist Republican is even aware John McCain has a middle name ? It'd be real easy to sneer "Sidney". Stupid -- but easy.
GTF, if you take a few minutes to peruse some big-city blogs, you'll find PLENTY of blatant racism - by blacks (judging from the language), against whites.
Are you judging these folks to be Republicans, too?

Barit,
Can you give me the source for your information ? I just skimmed through Obama's tax plan (again) and couldn't find anything to match your assertion. (Don't see anything from "RL" here either.)
