Hamster wheel jammed....

Controversial?

Military censorship?

Who could propose another unanimously accepted thread, like "Egg and Chicken.... Which was first?"............or..........."Military planning, its successes and defeats"..............or ..........."Papas fritas de la libertad.....Will they take the market?"....................or.............."End of words= end of doubts?"..............?

Seems to me you're all too 'chicken' to post a new Hamster Wheel thread for fear of a banning (or repercussions).

You have to show these mods who's boss

I think Hamster Wheel has been binned as an experiment that didn't work.

Chucking all the serious/controversial threads into one big heap really made it impossible to follow any interesting parts or post sensibly on 'em as anything worthwhile got lost in the tangle (and the only way to mod it was with a meat-axe). A lot of the more reasoned posters just got bored and stayed away (with predictable results).

My guess is that threads that look like producing some instructive and civilised discussion will be allowed to stand alone and threads that don't (or degenerate) will have a fairly short lifetime.

JB can be quite an interesting place if everyone plays by the rules and I don't think there was an intention of killing it off, just that without a very active mod (like F***s) it gets too much of a headache to control.

What's THAT got to do with the price of fish? This is JB after all.

The current 'hostilities' (and I'm not talking PPRuNe) make it difficult to make observations without the thread degenerating into mayhem. I understand Danny's POV (and support it) but HOW do you have discussion without the Pros AND Againsts?
There appears to be two possible solutions, and BOTH involve Israel (at opposite extremes), but would EITHER solve Centuries (and Millennia) of turmoil? Wouldn't it just be driven underground to resurface later?
IS there a possible solution for a situation such as Ireland / Northern Ireland?

I think it's a shame that the biggest international news probably this year cannot be discussed. I understand Danny's sensitivity where Israel is concerned but from what I saw on the Hamster Wheel no-one was Israel bashing but merely criticising what is going on in Lebanon at the moment.

Maybe the word Israel should be banned from PPRuNe and everyone would know where they stand.

Well, my kid's hamster just died. The sad thing is she is out of the country right now. We have to decide whether to tell her now or wait til she returns. Oh God, this is not an AA post....

You must decide whether circumstances will allow a replacement, or whether the demise was 'timely'. I used to obtain my hamsters from a 30-year-old lady who continued breeding and keeping hamsters well into her maturity, though many abandon such pets when they reach teenage years. Said child / young lady may be ready for a change of pastime. If not, then you're gonna have to pay dearly for replacement stock.

If she ASKS, don't lie. If she DOESN'T ask, you've got your answer.

Could cost you a pony . . .

Jet blast is, or was unique, in that it enabled people with very different views to communicate so long as they observed the house rules. The common interest was aviation, and the hope was for a bit of understanding to dislodge predudice. If Danny had been able to remain aloof, it could have continued, and I believe would truly help to show why the M.E. and the rest of the World is in turmoil. Danny has an unshakeable POV & faith in Israel. But it would be unreasonable, even preposterous, for him to maintain that POV in face of the facts of Israels latest actions and intentions. So better to shoot the messenger, and remove the hamster wheel. Sad isnt it
