Do any of you folks have any ideas on what to do with an old desktop computer? I have replaced mine with a rather snazzy laptop and I was wondering if there was a charity or something similar that wouold like the old one?.It is perfectly serviceable 40gb hard drive,athlon processor,only about three years old.....any suggestions?

just make sure you properly clear the memory of all those 'dodgy' sights you might have accessed in error!!!

I think there are some charities that specialise in sending unwanted computer equipment down to Africa. I will ask around and see if I can get a contact name and address

Keep it by the side of your desk along with a mallet.

Next time you lose your rag with the laptop, you can beat the $h!t out of the desktop, thereby relieving tension at no cost.
