Weather with You

Back in '99 I was in Darwin and I think the song they played on the local TV station was "Weather with You". It was played over and over. That holiday was pretty special and the music has been buzzing around in my head again recently.

Looking on the net I see that the Crowded House seems to be the group likely to have played it, so presumably that's the version I heard.

I want to listen to it, to verify that, but I don't know how to find music on the net - if it's legal to do so. I want to buy the version that I'm remembering, but want to hear it to find out if that's it.

Perhaps someone reading this is from Darwin, remembers it and can tell me if I'm on the right track......

Crowded House it is, Stormy.

Weather With You (Neil Finn/Tim Finn)
LYRICS

Walking 'round the room singing
Stormy Weather
at 57 Mt. Pleasant St.
Now it's the same room but everything's different
You can fight the sleep but not the dream

Things ain't cookin' in my kitchen
Strange affliction wash over me
Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire
Couldn't conquer the blue sky

There's a small boat made of china
Going nowhere on the mantlepiece
Do I lie like a loungeroom lizard
Or do I sing like a bird released

It was Crowded house. Go to amazon.wherever & search for the album, which was woodface IIRC & usually, you can listen to samples.

Alternatively, pick up a guitar & play em7, a, em7, a, em7, a, dmin, c, dmin, c in that order over a shuffle beat & hey presto, you got it.

Two Kiwi brothers, Neil and Tim Finn formed the band Split Enz circa 1979.

When they split, in 1986, Crowded House were formed - a Kiwi/Aussie band.

Neil and Tim Finn are now again performing together and currently touring the UK.

Weather With You is probably their most famous hit, but Crowded House have a great back catalogue of songs.

Wow - what quick and informative replies. Thanks all. I walked away from the computer for a short time and when I came back there's all the info I need. PPRuNe is an amazing resource - but it's only as good as the contributors!!
