Nice new helicopters for The AIr Corps.

First PC-9's and now this, new tender issued by the Irish government, if this keeps up ...............................

quote:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provision of Light Utility and Utility Military Helicopters.

2 Light Utility Military Helicopters mainly for pilot training but also
which may be configured for air ambulance, VIP transport and limited
command and control.

4 Utility Military Helicopters (with an option for
two (2) additional Utility Military Helicopters) mainly for
interoperability training with the Army, military manoeuvres, air
ambulance, casevac and limited air lift and troop transport for up to
eight fully equipped troops

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mini, will that satisfy you?

Hopefully there will be several follow ups as this is supposed to replace the existing fleet, .....some chance, I do not think we have seen the last of the A111's yet.

Dont get too excited...

Take 'em 5 years to evaluate the tender...with numerous visits by various staff/officials all over the globe...then they'll decide to cancel it

I've got a smile on my face here...

"and limited air lift and troop transport for up to

Apart from halving the established no of helos,

Luckily there are no more Colemans' Island deployments...

Aer Corps f*cked over once again, awful shame, first rate guys.

BR, probably right. Imbicile in Charge.

Glad I left. A111's forever?

For those [few] intrested in Irish Air Corps affairs.
The results of the tender were announced to-day:
The EC-135 is the choice for the light/trainer helicopter.
The AB-139 was picked for the troop carrier.
I think the A111's will be around for a while yet.
As usual, I will only start belivin they are comming, when I see them passing over me house!
