Question Cowpat splats

Just come back from a most excellent afternoon out.... had to drop a couple of guys off to pick up another helicopter. Interesting mission, and really enjoying my first flight of the year.

Anyway, our landing spot was in a farmer's field.

Coming in the last 50 feet or so, there it was - a huge cowpat right in the middle of the LZ. Splatted it completely

Reminds me of the time a few years back when I landed on a mushroom and broke it

So what's the oddest thing you've ever landed on ?

You mean in an aircraft... or just generally?

Wink

hey traveler - I'm glad your 'bits' don't need any support

But I am worried about you going flying in drag.

Is there something you've been meaning to tell us ?

Cool

Having 'buzzed' cleared the strip three times from an assortment of an elphant and a herd of Jackson's Hartebeast ' Kongoni' I was in the process of landing a DC3 at Murchison Falls when a straggler elected to race from one side of the strip to the other just as I was on the flare, my port undercarriage struck the animal luckily missing the prop. We landed without incident and the fire department landrover picked up the unfortunate casualty. They were delighted and asked if I could be sure to do it on my next arrival as it made for a fine meal, a request I politely declined.
