Brian Wilson - Hero or Villain
I dont normally post in JB but when I saw the thread title Good Vibrations I thought it would be about Brian Wilson. It was'nt so I thought I would start my own thread.

I went to the Brian Wilson Concert last night at the SECC in Glasgow to see him perform the legendery missing Beach Boys album Smile and a selection of Beach Boys classics. I know what I thought about Smile but would be interested in the thoughts of anybody else who has been to one of the Concerts.

Was he a hero for finally compleeting it and touring with it or a villain for taking away its mystique by finally letting everybody hear it?

Not sure if he's a hero or a villain, but it appears that the medication is working on him these days, he appears to be in control of enough of the plot to gig and tour succesfully.

Strange chap... allegedly heavy LSD use at the end of the sixties flipped him over the edge for a long long time. Didn't he spend most of the late sixties and seventies living in a tent in a sand-pit inside his California mansion along with his grand piano, refusing to come out?

Unfortunately brothers Dennis and Carl are no longer with us.


The album...Brian Wilson, Live at the Roxy Theatre..is absolutely superb.
