Music Quiz 329

Scran is away, so it falls to me to do the dirty work.

Rules

1...Questions posted on Monday. Answers posted whenever I feel like it.
2...2 points for each lyrics question - 1 point for the title and 1 point for the artist. Trivia questions normally 1 point. Some trivia questions will ask for additional information which is worth 1 point. Bonus points may be awarded for additional relevant information, at my discretion.
3...There is no rule 3.
4...Judges decision is final.
5...During the first 24 hours from the quiz being posted, you are allowed only one post, answering as many questions as you like. Additional posts within the 24 hour period will be ignored. Edited posts within the 24 hour period will be disqualified. Complete answers will take precedence over earlier partial answers.
6...After the first 24 hours there is no restriction on posts.

LYRICS

1..."Listen to the ground"
Night Fever / Bee Gees - acmi48
2...Heavenly shades of night are falling"
Twilight Time / Platters - Cooda
3..."Evening is the time of day"
Early In The Morning - Cooda
4...I got rice cooking in the microwave"
It's A Great Day To Be Alive/Travis Tritt - Reynolds
5...Well my friends the time has come"
6...Got a good reason for taking the easy way out"
Day Tripper/Beatles - Cooda
7...I was a little too tall"
Night Moves/Bob Seger - LITOW
8..."You're looking kind of lonely girl"
9..."Is this a game that you're playing"
10.."I can't wait another day"
11.."Sorry I never told you"
One Sweet Day/Maria Carey - Reynolds
12.."Mornings alone"
13.."I never meant to be so bad to you"
Heat Of The Moment/Asia - Volume
14.."I need a laugh"
15.."Even though I'm in love"
16.."She calls out to the man in the street"
Another Day In Paradise/Phil Collins - Volume
17.."She's just sixteen years old"
Into The Night/Benny Mardonas - Reynolds

Theme Of The Week - True or False (courtesy of - ahem - me)

1...Axl Rose once beat up a guy because he said he (Rose) looked like Jon Bon Jovi.
2...Ozzy Osborne once snorted live ants. (Note from scran - Ozzy, not sure you're allowed to answer that one)
3...Marilyn Manson was once asked who was the weirdest performer, he or Ozzy Osborne. He replied "Ozzy, because the weirdest thing I've ever snorted was sea horses."
4...Alice Cooper once nearly hanged himself onstage during a performance.
True - Reynolds. Part of the act involved a mock hanging where Alice placed his neck in a noose. The stunt was badly set up and the rope was wrongly attached to the support, so that he really did begin to hang himself.
5...Jerry Landis, Paul Kane, Gregory Harrison and True Taylor are all the same person.
True - Reynolds. They're all aliases of Paul Simon.
6...The Captain and Tenille song "Love Will Keep Us Together" is actually about two men.
7..."I Can't Get No Satiafaction" was just a working title for the song of the same name.
8...Elvis Presley died while sitting on the toilet.
True - Reynolds. His autopsy revealed that he had at least 10 drugs in his system at the time of death. The official cause of death was "heart failure while straining at stool." He died on the pot.
9...Elvis liked to shoot at flashbulbs in his swimming pool.
True - Newswatcher. He used to like sitting around the pool eating watermelon. For entertainment, he would float flashbulbs in the water and shoot them with a .22. When hit, the bulbs would flash and sink to the bottom.
10..The Carpenters' song "We've Only Just Begun" was actually a bank commercial.
11..The Beatles song "Sexy Sadie" was about the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
True - Reynolds. The Beatles named him Sadie, and John Lennon called him sexy after he tried putting the make on Mia Farrow who was staying at the Mahareshi's retreat while the Beatles were there.
12..A chicken and egg dish ordered by Paul Simon in a Chinese restaurant inspired the song "A Mother And Child Reunion."
True - Reynolds.
13..A tombstone epitaph inspired the song "To Know Him Is To Love Him."
14.."Someone Saved My Life Tonight" was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin after John had been talked out of marrying a six foot tall woman.
15..The actor who playd Mr. Green Jeans on the kiddy show "Captain Kangaroo" was Frank Zappa's father.
False - Reynolds. Nobody really knows how this rumor started, but there is an instrumental on the Zappa album "Uncle Meat" called "Mr. Green Genes" and on the following album "Hot Rats" there's another instrumental called "Son Of Mr. Green Genes." The real father of FZ is FZ Sr. who was a research scientist at Lockheed before his retirement.
16..Billy Preston played keyboards at the last public performance of the Beatles.
17..k. d. lang refused to do a duet with Meatloaf because he is not gay.

TRIVIA

a...How many Catlin boys were there?
b...Which character says it's cool for cats? Bonus for artist.
Davy Crockett - Reynolds. UK Squeeze - Cooda.
c...By what name was Andreas Cornelius van Kuijk better known?
Colonel Tom Parker - Newswatcher.
d...In the song "Jailhouse Rock" which instrument is played by Spider Murphy?
Tenor sax - Newswatcher.
e...Which instruments were played by Motown session men James Jamerson and Benny Benjamin respectively?
Bass and drums - Newswatcher.
f...Who sang lead on the hits "Heat Wave," "Jimmy Mack" and "Nowhere to Run?"
Martha Reeves - LITOW.
g...In what year did Marvin Gaye first release the album "What's Going On?"
1971- Newswatcher.
h...Name the two other founding members of the reggae band "The Wailers" other than Bob Marley?
Bunny Livingstone and Peter Tosh - Reynolds.
i...Who took "Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have)" into the charts?
The Buzzcocks - Reynolds
j...On top of which building did the Beatles perform their famous roof top concert in 1969?
Apple Records - Newswatcher.
k...Standard question - what do this week's lyrics have in common? (Be specific)
They refer to time - Volume.

Thanks to takethe5th for some of the questions.
